I arrived quite late and was very tired from long travel. The front desk was busy with clients trying to check in but only 1 staff member was working. Took a long time for service. Then what was most frustrating was no one picked up at reception when calling from my room. No control over room temperature, room was clean but dated. Breakfast had lots of items but hot foods were cold, eggs tough. Not impressed with this hotel. Only thing it had really going for it was proximity to the airport. I would suggest trying another airport hotel.

Great location to walk to airport. Check inn staff was kind and welcoming. In the room, the toilet would not flush, had to get help and someone came right away. I was told it was a low flow toilet, but we would have to flush 3-4 times, hold the handle down, and wait between flushes. Kinda a pain. Also, when called to order room service and another time I called the front desk and both times no one answered the phone.

Lovely and helpful front staff. Can't beat the location for convenience to the airport - in sight and just a ten minute walk though there is also a free shuttle that runs frequently. Also a convenient bus stop out front for a bus that takes you right into the city for touring (~15 minute bus ride). Had room service from the hotel restaurant - excellent. Very nice hotel worker delivered the food (he had also lived for a while in my own hometown - Boston, MA!)

We stayed at this hotel so we could easily catch our flight out of Edinburgh the next day. It was a quick stay, but very convenient. There was a shuttle that came regularly to pick up guests and take them to the airport. Our car rental company, Arnold Clark, also shuttled my family to Double Tree after dropping off our car the afternoon before checking in to Double Tree. The restaurant had good food, and everyone was very friendly and helpful. One thing to note for families, If you are planning on using the pool and have kids under 16, as a parent you will have to swim with your children. Two kids to one adult. We had three kids and had to rotate one at a time to comply with this rule. You cannot just sit on the side of the pool and watch; you have to be in the pool with the kids so plan accordingly.

Great location, within walking distance of the airport. Room was spacious and clean. One of the staff receptionists CARRIED our bags to our room for us. Above and beyond. She said she liked the workout!!!. Breakfast was beyond adequate with lots of choices at the buffet and the shuttle was frequent and easy to navigate as it pulled up just out front of the hotel. Ubered into the city and back to the hotel. Much less expensive than a taxi. If I hadn't had my 88 y.o. mother with me I would have walked the 5-10 minutes to the airport and taken in the tram or bus.

We needed a one-night layover following a lengthy tour around Scotland and the Hilton Doubletree fit the bill nicely. Perfect location with courtesy shuttle to the airport, and easily accessible from downtown Edinburgh via taxi, Uber or Lyft. A surprisingly nice restaurant in the hotel provided us with a very good dinner the night before our departure back to the US.

Expensive night's stay prior to our flight. Didn't get value for money. Was disturbed during the night by people walking past and by the TV next door.

For North American travellers, this hotel does not have A/C. If it is hot out you are stuck in a room with a junk portable desk fan and windows that slightly tilt open, not ideal. The pool is a good size, if you bring children under 16 they require you to be in the pool with them. No, you can't just sit in a lounger and watch them. Not that it would matter, as there are only 3 chairs available around the pool and you get the luxury of throwing your towel on the wet dirty floor. The breakfast was of very average quality, not good, not terrible. My check in experience was very poor, arrived at 3:45 for a 3pm check in and didn't get a room until nearly 5pm. After prompting, they did provide us free drink vouchers, but they had a specific voucher menu at the bar and the drinks were of poor quality. I paid $500 Canadian dollars for a single night for this luxury.

There was no air conditioning in the room but it cooled down with the window open. The on site restaurant was good. There is a shuttle but it does not take you to your terminal so a bit of a walk after. Also this is a very busy hotel or at least it was while we were there.
