Very nice hotel with a great location, right in front of the beach, close to many coffee shops, restaurants...very clean and spacious room and bathroom with all the amenities and a terrace. The service at the main desk was great, the guy was very friendly and helpful. The restaurant had an amazing terrace facing the beach. We'll be back for sure.

Great place to eat & drink

The Baya Hotel pestered me with three emails requesting this review. One would have been enough. The positive: 1. The hotel is in the perfect location by the beach with tourist shops and restaurants nearby and the harbour only a short walk away. 2. The hotel staff were mostly friendly and helpful with the exception being one of the bar staff. She was plainly incompetent and downright rude. 3. Our room had a mini fridge and a safe. 4. There is underground parking available. The negative: 1. The hotel is overpriced and definitely not value for money. 2. A refurbishment of the entire hotel is long overdue. The interior of the hotel is dark and dingy with very poor lighting. 3. The website photographs of our room are very deceiving. For example they do not show the cracked sink in the bathroom or the dirty toilet. It also had poor lighting. 4. Our room had air conditioning, which struggled to cope in normal summer temperatures. There were no windows that could be opened. Just the door to the balcony. 5. The door into our room had to be slammed shut otherwise it would not close properly. 6. Every day I had to request that our room be cleaned. I have stayed in many hotels and never have I had to prompt them to clean the room. 7. The restaurant/bar menu has very little choice and the menu itself looks more like one you would find in a burger joint. 8. A basic hotel breakfast will cost you €18 per person. No thanks. Two minutes walk from the hotel is a boulangerie where you can get two breakfasts for less than that. 9. There is no swimming pool. We will not be going back.
