Great location... Mario, who speaks perfect English, and the rest of the staff treat you like family, but always extremely professional. The rooms are up-to-date with USB ports by the bed nice sized rooms with beautiful furnishing and comfortable bed a very efficient elevator. A very nice breakfast is served as well as buffet style cereal, yogurt, fruit, delicious baked apples.... The gentleman at breakfast time and evening was so kind and sweet to us. Sorry I don't d not ask his name. I highly recommend....

We have only positive things to say about this charming hotel on a quiet street close to everything we wanted to see and do in Lucca. The service was wonderful and everyone was so kind. Our check-in included a visit to the room with the receptionist to explain everything. Breakfast was delicious. Bed was firm and comfortable. Best shower in Europe we have experienced yet. Price was very fair for everything we experienced. Grazie mille Hotel Palazzo Alexander! We hope we can return one day.

Our stay at Hotel Palazzo Alexander was absolutely exceptional. From the moment we arrived, the staff made us feel genuinely welcome and completely at ease. Their recommendations for restaurants and activities were consistently spot-on — every meal and outing they suggested ended up being a highlight of our trip. It made exploring Lucca effortless and deeply enjoyable. The rooms were beautiful: elegant, comfortable, and immaculately maintained. After long days walking the city, it was such a pleasure to return to a space that felt both refined and restful. Comfort and accessibility were especially important to us, and the hotel delivered on both. Its location within the old city made everything easily reachable, whether we were wandering the historic streets, visiting shops, or heading out for dinner. Lucca completely charmed us, and this hotel played a huge part in that experience. We already can’t wait to return — and when we do, we sincerely hope to stay at the Alexander again. Five stars without hesitation.

No complaints. Staff were very kind and welcoming. Rooms were sufficient , shower and bed was very nice. Coffee maker in room. I asked for extra pillows and they brought them right up. Very nice pillows I just needed an extra one. Breakfast was also very good. Had scrambled eggs, bacon and cappuccino with assorted breads both mornings. Super quiet location. Definitely recommend.

I stayed here with my girlfriend between the 26th Feb and the 1st of March and we had quite frankly an exceptional experience with this hotel. It is perfectly situated in the Walled City and everything is right at your doorstep, as well as being close enough to the city gates that it was very quick coming in and out of the town. The staff are extremely friendly, polite and helpful at all times of the day, and the room itself was incredibly comfortable with all the amenities one could need. We will certainly be revisiting this hotel and are very much looking forward to it!
