My family and I had a lovely breakfast for 14 on New Year’s Eve. We had a lovely experience, the staff were very friendly and accommodating, especially considering our group was big. The food was delicious and all hot, everything came out on time and together. It’s a beautiful location. Kali served us predominantly and she was very professional and efficient making sure we had everything we needed. She was so friendly and attentive. Also Brooke was very good to us and nothing was any trouble. The staff and food were brilliant and we were all impressed . We will definitely return, thank you so much !

The staff were kind, accommodating and attentive to every detail throughout our meal. I opted for the steak sandwich which was absolutely outstanding. The steak was cooked to perfection. Juicy, tender, and packed with flavour. To anyone wanting great value and tasty food in warm, welcoming and scenic surrounding you cannot go wrong with Farmhouse Kitchen at Horsley Lodge.

Book for a Sunday lunch through the web site. Arrived and was seated and ordered, the drinks arrived then waited for just under an hour. Asked member of staff when we would get the Sunday sharing platter we order an hour ago? She went to the open kitchen and returned 10 minutes later to tell us that there had been a mix up and we would get food shortly, after waiting a further 20 minutes then watching two other tables being served with the same meal we ordered we decided to leave. Only when leaving did the duty manager intervene! Offering a take out bag!! We left after waiting for food for nearly 1 1/2 hours. We had to leave as we were meeting people. I then emailed the complaint the following day, then followed up 5 days later by email - still no response. So as they seem to be not bothered about the service they give customer I thought I would post this review.

Visited for breakfast and was not disappointed. Good service and lovely breakfast.very reasonably priced also which is a bonus. Nice selection of breakfast on offer. Also had an evening meal here and that was most enjoyable too. Only disappointment is the sparse amount of vegetables on the vegetable pizza. Vegetables were cut into tiny pieces and given overall standard of the food and atmosphere, this lack of attention to detail and attempt to reduce the amount of vegetables on pizza, sadly let the pizza down. Maybe the chef was having an off day, or the pizza needs tweaking to reflect the overall standard 😉 However, the steak looked delicious and was well cooked.

Had late lunch yesterday. As soon as we walked in we could smell sewage!!, Unfortunately this didn’t disappear so spoilt what would have been a good lunch. Food tasty and adequate. The staff were all lovely and efficient. When told them about the smell we were informed that they were aware of the problems! Surely if sewage problems restaurant should be shut whilst it is sorted. This was my 1st visit for a couple of years. It has had a lovely revamp and is well furnished, nice to have an open kitchen. but thus has put me off returning. 😒
