Great hotel, nice easy check in and a quiet room. Next to a restaurant and attached to a bar. Very quiet location but close to amenities.

Don’t bother!

Everything was great except it was a warm day and the room and corridors were like a sauna, for the price I expected air conditioning.

Lovely clean and tidy hotel.

there were no AC or fan. there was no proper ventilation. it was like a steam room and toilet was equally hot. it was a terrible two nights. We mostly had to stay in the car.

Lovely place to stay

Lovely hidden gem, premises have great character and decor is beautiful. Room was cosy and spacious. Would definitely stay again and highly recommend!

Room was fine apart from bed and pillows shower was a step in bath not safe for older people

We held our wedding reception here, they could not have made things run any better. Very organised and smooth service during the meal. Nothing we asked for was any trouble to the staff they just got on with it. I would recommend this venue , it was brilliant. Thank you to all at the Royal Toby

Lovely, quiet room in a pub/hotel which provided a perfect stopover between concerts in Manchester. Breakfast was very good and the staff were very friendly and helpful. We will definitely stay again

Room was spacious, although I felt the falls were too thin and could hear people in corridors and from their rooms.

Everyrhing was fab especially the staff but disappointing beds. Could feel the springs in the bed which was very uncomfortable and why i gave low score for comfort. Ended up with a very sleepless night and bin men arriving on Sunday at 6.30 to empty bins did not help

The hotel is lovely in the communal areas and the rooms are nice too but unfortunately the room was dark and dingey. The window is very small and in the top corner of a wall so the little light that gets through doesnt fill the room. To make this worse the electric lighting in the room is insufficient, there is no main light, instead there are targeted wall lights that only light the wall/item they target. It was very difficult to apply my make up due to the inadequate lighting. The bathroom was too humid to do make up/hair. The extractor in the bathroom switches on with the light and produces eccessive noise so when getting up for the toilet during the night ig had to be in darkness so not to wake my partner. The bathroom was found with a disgusting amount of hair in the bath drain and what looked like beard shavings on the sink and the bath. The mirror/TV and other furniture was excessively dusty also. The bed/ mattress was overworn, I found myself in the middle of the bed ravine during the night. I paid £90 room only for 1 night and for that I don't expect the Ritz but i absolutely expect adequate lighting and cleanliness. I was dissapointed because the hotel rooms look lovely online. Additionally, we went in to the bar for a drink, i ordered a pint of draft lager and a spirit with cranberry mixer which was out of a carton and definitely on the turn. The price was £12.70 which I think is expensive. The staff could be nicer. I would not stay at this hotel again.

Has everything you need . CLEAN , great staff , great food & reasonably priced. if i had to criticise it would be the rooms are a bit stuffy in warmer weather & us personally prefer walk in showers The bathrooms could do with a night light so you dont have to put big light on when needing to use in the night . Overall a lovely place to stay and will definitely be returning for many stays while visiting family in the area

The staff on reception were very helpful and pleasant the room was in a good location and the breakfast was well presented

Visited on Sunday mothers day with twelve of the family all of whom really enjoyed the experience. The three course menue gave you plenty of options too choose from. I had the beef roast it was excellent all of our party really enjoyed their meals. The staff deserve a special mention they were brilliant very efficient, helpful and friendly. To round off the day we decided to book a room and a good nights sleep was had, comfortable and clean room. We have stayed and dined here on a number of occasions and enjoyed every visit. Will undoubtedly visit again soon.
