Staff were amazing, location was great and the house was very charming.

This is an outstanding property in a quiet, picturesque part of Stoke-on-Trent (the village of Barlaston). Morgan at Reception on Tuesday afternoon 15/7/25 was fantastic… very helpful, very pleasant! Dinner was very nice…and the wait staff pleasant and efficient! Our room was well appointed and beds very comfortable, with a nice ensuite and shower. This property exceeded our expectations! Our second time at the Upper House and it didn't disappoint - we had a comfortable stay (in the same room as on our first visit!), and the food was as good as we remembered. We enjoyed the gardens in bloom and the walks from the doorstep. I'm sure it won't be our last visit.

Relative to price paid everything was excellent.

The rooms were excellent and a magnificent property surrounds the hotel.

Quiet rural location in a converted country house. There are a variety of room choices, all include breakfast. The restaurant has some great choices for breakfast. Dinner menu is also good. There’s a cosy little bar in the hotel and other pub and dining options are a short drive away. I have stayed here around 10 times and it is my go-to choice in the area.

Lovely location. Service is very good and friendly. Unfortunately the rooms are small and walls are thin - we heard conversations olin next rooms up until 3a.m plus. Pose of adjacent showers and toilets. Not a place fora restful sleep.

Staying at the Upper House Hotel was a most enjoyable few days , very clean and comfortable room, food excellent, and staff very friendly. Hotel in beautiful grounds. Would recommend.

The hotel was excellent, the staff were brilliant and so friendly. The room was great with a massive bed. The food at dinner was 5 star and great portions as well. Breakfast was really good. All in all a perfect stay at a top hotel.
