This hotel presents itself as a high end hotel, but it is not. I stayed in a Deluxe Bedroom, on the 19th floor. The sound proofing on the windows is horrible. I could hear all the cars honking every morning from the 19th floor waking me up. At times, you could smell cigarette smoke coming thru the vents from other bedrooms. The only good things about this hotel are the breakfast, nearby subway station, and the dry cleaning. The customer service is subpar. I had to checkout sooner than expected. I checked out 1 hr past the deadline, and was charged an additional night. The manager would not waive the additional night because of 1 hr. I have stayed at this hotel everytime I am in China, but have realized there are better options available nearby. Stay there instead.

I think that Nikko Corporate HQ needs to encourage this hotel to be more accommodating to guests! When I made the reservation on Hotels.com, I had written a special request to have hypoallergenic bedding since I am allergic to down. I received a message back that they had a pillow for me but none of their bedding was feather-free. I can’t believe that they can’t figure this out! After all, Suzhou is famous for its gorgeous silk filled quilts! Their Lounge Bar also needs to have a better selection and understand how wines should be served. Since it was New Year’s Eve, we tried to order a bottle of sparkling wine to celebrate. They were out of most of the wines on their wine list and finally brought over a warm bottle of a much more expensive bottle of champagne. Finally, their buffet breakfast was nothing special at all and the staff started cleaning it up at 10 am on New Year’s Day! I had only come down at 9:30 as I hadn’t realized that they would close it so early in a national holiday. For a 5 Star hotel, this hotel was very disappointing!

Brand new room.

It starts with happy smiles, greetings and a lightning fast check-in. The room was big and already chilly. Two keys to always have the lights on, digital buttons and outlets, adapters and chargers, and even external inputs for the TV. Everything you want from a hotel (comfort, toiletries, plush towels) plus an added touch of technology and elegance. Even the bathroom overhead speaker played the TV so you never miss a beat. internet was fast and reliable and no fumbling with hotel passwords. The gym and pool we're also a hit. The one snag I had in the three nights was trying to order room service... No one understood enough to complete the order. Luckily for me, they had a gourmet buffet which was three levels of delicious!

Nice swimming pool with Jacuzzi, comfort rooms.But the gym has only limited equipment, not good for weight training. The location is a bit far from everything else.
