Melia Hotel has always been my favorite choice for a staycation. Despite all its offerings, the price is still affordable compared to other hotels. The location is strategic, the staff are friendly but not overly pushy, the cleanliness and maintenance are excellent, and they continue to innovate, especially with their breakfast.
Upon arrival, I was immediately greeted by the friendly staff at the lobby door, the attentive bellboy, and the helpful receptionist. There's also a basement with elevator access, so you don't have to worry about your vehicle getting wet or getting too hot from the sun.
The rooms are quite spacious but not too bare. The corridors and rooms are carpeted, making them very comfortable.
The room amenities are also quite complete: a separate shower and closet, plus the closet has a bidet, face towels, bathrobes, and a makeup mirror, perfect for women getting ready.
The pool is indoor, so you don't have to worry about the weather. There's a gym, sauna, and spa. The rooftop also has a bar and restaurant for hanging out and enjoying the city views overlooking Losari.
What I like most is the spacious restaurant, which has a balcony for smoking and isn't connected to the swimming pool, making it comfortable. The food selection is extensive, from Indonesian to Western. There's an Indomie stand, and the churros are a must-try. They're all delicious. Refills are fast, and the staff is very helpful with questions and requests.
For a foodie like me, you should definitely try staying and having breakfast here.
Overall, Melia is highly recommended if you're looking for accommodation in Makassar or just for a staycation.
