Room clean, staff polite and helpful. Lovely Roast meal.

Brilliant staff and superb room

Would have liked a newer room,this one was dated and need a new bath room suite.we had great views from our room,put draft from old wood frame windows.Food very good.

Great location very helpful staff and a fantastic bar with a lovely atmosphere even in january . One of the best breakfasts ive had in a hotel buffet style with very attentative staff. Rooms basic but clean with a comfy bed all you need really had a great 2 nights and would book again with no hesetation . Big thank you to all at the royal .

Upgraded to larger room on arrival, nice and warm, hot shower lovely view, friendly staff.

Our room was lovely. Bear with the hotel during their refurb. What they have done so far is quirky but tasteful. Food was good and reasonable. Bit of a busy breakfast on Sunday which staff/ kitchen struggled to cope with. Apart from that, a great stay.

There was a lot of decorating going on particularly along our corridor, and they are presumably going to improve all bedrooms eventually. We were pleasantly surprised by how good the hotel was. Bar area really good and very busy. Being able to pre book parking is a bonus and worth doing. Breakfast slightly disappointing as they kept running out of things and there were a few queues but what we had was good and it was very busy. Would definitely stay there again. It doesn't appear to be a Shearings hotel anymore .

The room was clean very well serviced and towels changed. The only criticism would be a daily jug of water to use the kettle would make it perfect

The staff were amazing, especially Mellissa at the front desk. We loved the whole hotels it was all brand new with a steam punk look. We will be back soon
