Room was clean and the bed was firm but comfortable. It would have been nice to have a sofa or soft chairs to watch TV. Instead there is a bed, two hard chairs and a small kitchen table. Two of the floor to ceiling patio doors slide open providing good access. Balcony has two folding chairs and a small table. Our room faced the rear of the building that is shaded by trees providing some privacy and an opportunity to watch local birds who like to perch on the branches. There is a Yoga studio below and you can sometimes hear people talk and some music but it didn't bother us. The kitchen includes utensils for two people and two frying pans but no pots. There is a coffee maker, a toaster and a microwave. The fridge is full-sized and there is a 2-element hot plate for cooking. Bring your own sugar, salt, pepper, etc... We did have a couple of issues. The deadbolt would not lock from the inside. We reported it to the manager but he was not helpful so we had to rely on the outside lock (this should be fixed). We also found the building a bit noisy which is mostly due to the walls being concrete and the ceramic tile floors. Expect to hear some noise from the hallways and nearby stairs (doors slamming, people talking, etc...), especially at night. The rooftop amenities are limited (3 lounge chairs, 3 day beds, 3 hammocks) but there is a separate sitting area, plus tables and chairs next to the grilling stations (2). It was always very busy up on the roof.

Amazing employees. Location is great, laundry available always a plus for me.

Clean, comfy and quiet, with good shopping and dining options nearby. The beach is an easy 15 min walk away.

The staffs, room, price, and space for 4 adults. I read about the noise, shower, cleanliness problems in the reviews and worried but didn’t need. It was cold winter for the area this year and blankets were not thick enough for it but only for this year and couldn’t complain.

Clean room, had to specify for fresh towels or new sheets. Nice location, centrally located in safe area within walking distance of many things, including 5th avenue.

Amazing stay! I will definitely be booking again for my next trip to playa. We loved sipping coffee and having breakfast on our balcony every morning. The kitchen came in handy for cooking breakfast and some lunches. Bed was comfortable and it was overall clean, spacious and beautiful! The only thing that would have been nice would be to have some more cooking essentials like oil and salt. Other than that we absolutely loved our stay here and appreciated all the wonderful staff. Perfect location, we didn’t get a taxi once and just walked everywhere. Beach, restaurants, grocery etc. most things were within 15 mins walking or less! It was my first time staying off an all inclusive in Mexico and I much preferred to stay at this lovely hotel and explore the culture and local food! It felt extremely safe.

The rooms are super clean. Staff is super nice and very helpful. Every room has microwaves, 2 burner stove top, pans and utensils to cook with. Bowls, plates, and silverware to use. Fridge and freezer, your own AC unit in each unit, patio, bathroom with toilet and shower that are super clean. Great deal and location. Of each room gets its own WiFi. The rooftop pool and patio is awesome.

It is my second year coming to Sofia Bunik and I had the same , amazing experience . The front desk team is so nice and accommodating. The kitchen is spotless and I love making my morning coffee and smoothies ( blender included!) The rooftop pool is gorgeous and I can’t wait to come back next year!

The staff were very approachable and helpful. Once we checked in we had issues with the WiFi and TV not connecting the staff did their best to solve the issue and once learning they needed an engineer they instantly upgraded our room. The rooms were comfortable and spotless. The roof top garden with pool is stunning though not big enough for the amount of guests and like everywhere you had people who would put towels down first thing and not be there most of the day. Con - noise, the walls are thin and if you are noise sensitive it may not be the place for you. Pro - very convenient, a few minutes walk to shops, restaurants and supermarkets and 5-10min walk to the beach. Overall we were very satisfied with our stay and would return.

Great place. Juan Carlos and staff were amazing. Location is perfect, with 5 th Abe being so close but having a quiet place to sleep. Top notch restaurants all very close. Love it here and will return.

there was way too much contruction going on at the pool area which my room was right below it. it was horrible!! plus the staff was unable to give me wifi password. I won't be going back there
