About Osaka Castle Illuminage Light Festival

Osaka Castle Illuminage transforms the Nishinomaru Garden in Osaka Castle into a dazzling festival of lights. Against the castle tower's majestic backdrop, this year's display boasts installations featuring buffalo, historical artefacts, and dragons, with the highlight being a three-dimensional kabuto or samurai helmet. Enjoy interactive displays like panels that mimic your movements, LED steps that change colours once you step on them, and illuminated seesaws.

I bought the ticket about 40 minutes before the the gate closed and managed to get in and enjoy the illuminage festival. It was a seamless experience with only a few people attending the festival. Although it’s very chilly due to winter season, you can see another side of osaka castle here. It’s also good place to spend some times here to escape the crowd and appreciate the nightview 😊
