What you need to know

Enjoy unlimited rides on JR EAST Lines (including BRT), Tokyo Monorail, Izu Kyuko Line, Aoimori Railway Line, Iwate Galaxy Railway (IGR) Line, Sendai Airport Transit Line

Reserved seats in ordinary cars of the following express trains with through operation between JR EAST and Tobu Railway lines: Nikko, Kinugawa, and SPACIA Kinugawa trains

Ordinary trains (including rapid trains) on the Tobu Railway lines between Shimo-imaichi and Tōbu-nikkō / Kinugawa-onsen

Express trains between Kurihashi and Shimo-imaichi that has direct and through operation with Tobu Railway (excluding express trains that start or end at Tobu Railway)

JR buses in the area can be used with the pass (excluding highway and some regular bus routes)

This JR Pass is only valid for the Tobu Railway when the departure and/or destination is a JR line station

You Should Also Know This

JR tickets operate under a registration system. Please ensure that you have provided sufficient information that’s required to make a purchase. Please also bear in mind that we will not be liable for any loss or delay due to insufficient information provided by travellers.

Travellers may bring up to 2 pieces of luggage, not including carry-ons and smaller bags. Each piece may not weigh more than 30 kg and with length, width, and depth not more than 250 cm in total; the longest side may not exceed 200cm.

For any “MCO redeemable vouchers” that have not been exchanged into an “Official Pass” you can apply for a refund within 11 months from the purchased date. However, a 20% cancelation fee will be charged. Please ensure that you keep your vouchers safe as we cannot issue new passes or process refunds if passes are lost, stolen or partially used.

From April 1, please use your JR PASS at the automatic ticket gate.

Only 1 JR Pass can be used during your travel in Japan (if the validity period overlaps, you can't buy more than 1 JR Pass of the same type).

Children's age is determined by their age on the date of ticket purchase. Please present their passport for verification.

Children aged under 6 do not need a pass if they don't take reserved seats.

A separate fee is applicable if you wish to use the Green Car or GranClass.

Youth fares (including student discount) are not offered for this pass.

The JR EAST PASS (Tohoku Area) cannot be used on the Tokaido Shinkansen. This is because the Tokaido Shinkansen is run by another company.

Gala Yuzawa Station only operates during the winter and spring.
