— What You Can Expect —

[Toretore Market]

Have fun shopping at the largest fish market in western Japan. Stroll through vendors that sell a wealth of seasonal fish and local specialties. Taste the succulent seafood and get a real bargain for the freshly caught and skillfully trimmed tuna

[Senjojiki]

Explore the wondrous rock formation created by strong waves. Walk out onto the plateau of multi-tiered rocks that look just like “a thousand tatami mats.” Get as close to the cliffs overlooking the Pacific Ocean and enjoy the thrill of watching surging waves crash against the rocks

[Shirasaki Ocean Park]

Known as the "Aegean Sea of Japan," the Shirasaki Coast in Wakayama Prefecture is as picturesque as a painting! Located in the marine portion of the Shirasakikaigan Prefectural Natural Park in Yura-cho, Hidaka District, Wakayama Prefecture, the Shirasaki Coast is surrounded by its signature white limestone rocks. The limestone is said to have formed in the late Paleozoic era, more than 200 million years ago.

Wakayama Prefecture's Shirasaki Coast, rich in nature, sees large flocks of black-tailed gulls flying in from spring to summer. Additionally, the marine park is a well-known breeding ground for narcissus flowers. The Shirasaki Coast has been selected as one of Japan's Top 100 Beaches and was also chosen as one of the Heisei Top 100 Landscapes by the Yomiuri Shimbun newspaper in 2009.

It is a charming coastline that combines the allure of the ocean, azure skies, limestone, and contrasting white sandy beaches, attracting many visitors every year.

[Shirahama Beach]

Roam around the silky white beach known as “Japan’s Waikiki.” Marvel at the dazzling lights dancing through the azure waters and golden sands
