Traveloka Community Guidelines

Welcome to Traveloka! We want Traveloka to always be a safe community to share insights to enhance the travel experience for our users. To ensure a positive and legally compliant environment, we have established these Community Guidelines (the “Guidelines”). By using the Traveloka websites or mobile applications, including any features contained therein (“Site”), you agree to abide by the rules of these Guidelines and help us foster this beautiful community. 


For a detailed explanation of your rights and obligations, as well as those of our platform, please refer to our Terms and Conditions which forms an integral part of these Guidelines. Failure to do so may result in content removal or other restrictions, including but not limited to the suspension of your account, as determined by us in our sole discretion. The Guidelines apply to everyone who has access to and uses the Site and to all types of content. 


Unless stated otherwise, the terms used in these Guidelines will have the same meaning attached to it in the Terms & Conditions. These Community Guidelines may be updated from time to time based on our sole discretion.


Here are the things you SHOULD NOT post on the Site:

1. Irrelevant or Vague Content

We want to maintain the quality of the contents that are posted on Traveloka. This means we champion contents that can provide inspirations and/or information to our users, specifically travel-related contents. We have the right to determine which content is most useful for our users and apply any algorithms or mechanisms to show preferred content. 

2. Duplicate or Spam

To ensure users’ comfort in browsing contents on Traveloka, please refrain from posting the same content multiple times. We have the right to remove any content that we think could be spam or is a duplicate of other content that you or other people have posted. 

3. Unlawful and Inappropriate Content

We aim to keep the content posted on our Site appropriate for a diverse audience. You must not post or upload any contents which incorporate any of the following:

  1. distorted or false data, wholly or partially;
  2. false data which may impact the protection of national security, public safety, economic safety, public infrastructure of any country or may cause panic to public;
  3. data which is an offense related to national security or terrorism under the applicable laws; 
  4. data containing obscene, nudity or sexual-harassment content; 
  5. Infringe any third party intellectual property; or
  6. illegal or inappropriate contents including but not limited to violence, drugs, alcoholic drinks, cigarettes, hate speech, foul words, political or religious views or other types of prohibited data under applicable laws.


We retain our right to reject or take down any contents that we got a report from other users, or found, verified or suspected that they may contain any of the above-mentioned criteria from our Site.

4. Inappropriate Comment

In order to keep Traveloka’s website and mobile applications a safe space, every user is expected to respect one another when interacting. We have the right to remove any comments that we think contain harassment, hate speech, discrimination, or foul words.

5. Third-party Infringement

We highly recognize and protect intellectual property rights including but not limited to copyright, trademark, privacy, publicity, and other personal or proprietary rights (“IPR”) of the creators or owners or specific contents. 


You retain ownership of any content (text, images, videos or other media) you submit. Therefore, please ensure that all the contents you generate or upload on the Site are created by you or you are permitted or licensed to copy, modify, publish or use such works.  By posting, you also grant Traveloka a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to use, distribute, modify, publicly display and share your content for commercial or non-commercial purposes. If we found or received a report of the IPR infringement or potential IPR infringement on the Site:


  1. We will comply with all applicable laws and regulations related to IPR and will take appropriate action as required by law, which could mean, among others, taking down any content that infringes our or a third party’s IPR.
  2. We reserve the right to investigate and, if necessary, take legal action, including filing claims or lawsuits, against any user responsible for infringing upon such a third party’s IPR.
  3. You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Traveloka from any and all claims, liabilities, damage, or expenses arising from or related to any infringement of IPR committed by the user. Traveloka is released from any responsibility in relation to such infringement.

6. Personal Information

The safety of our users is paramount, so we forbid you to upload or otherwise make available on our platform any content that shares personally identifiable information without the express consent of the subject of such personal information (including but not limited to address, phone number, license plates and identity document). 7. Low Quality Content

It is important for us to get your contents viewed by many of our users. In order to do so, please avoid posting contents that have blurry, shaky, and/or broken images.

8. Report

We encourage you to report to us if you see or find any of the unlawful or inappropriate content by submitting an email to cs@traveloka.com.


Upon receipt of your report together with the supporting documents, if applicable, we will promptly examine the details of your report and reserve our right to take any action as we deem appropriate to cease any illegal or inappropriate content from our Site and system within the specified timeframe specified by the applicable laws.
