Summer is here! Now it’s time to go to the sea and breathe in fresh air from nature. In this trip we will take you to experience a paradise in the Andaman Sea at Krabi. The dream destination of tourists around the world (and Thai people too!). We planned to travel for 3 days and 2 nights. Let’s see where we will go!
Flying across the cities from Bangkok to Krabi. For this trip we booked a cheap flight via Traveloka. We used the function called ‘’Price Alerts’ , a helper feature that will notify us about the price from each airline. So, we can compare, decide and buy the cheapest price out there. Perfect for a budget trip like ours.
After landing in the Krabi Airport, we went and picked up our belongings and headed to a car rental booth. On this trip we will mostly drive around and we travel as a group so we decided that renting a car is the best option. We booked a car from Traveloka too as there are a variety of cars and they are easy to use.
However, if you travel alone or just bring your couple along and don’t want to drive, there are also other ways for the airport transportation in Krabi or travel around the city.
After getting in the car, our first destination here in Krabi is ThamSue temple. Just 9 km from the airport so it took only 15-20 mins by car.
This temple is an important place for locals and travellers. As people believe that tigers used to live here and so it has become the name of this temple. It is also famous for its architecture and a famous statue of a monk.
We visited the temple, prayed for respect and got blessings. Walking around the temple, we felt the peacefulness as it’s surrounded by nature, woods, cliffs and natural caves.
There is also a viewpoint where you can watch over the city of Krabi. We need to walk inside the temple and walk up to the top of the hill.
Then we drove to Thapom Park. A place with mangrove swamp and a walkway. A beautiful destination with a perfect activity like kayaking.
We bought tickets and went to explore the emerald swamp that we can dip in. The water source comes from two places so this place is also called ‘two waters canal’
We chose to walk and explore the natural trail, surrounded by mangrove forests. It felt so good and relaxing – get to feel like one with nature.
After a tiring day, we started to feel hungry. Before we headed to the hotel and called it a day, we drove to a restaurant named ‘Ruen Mai’. A famous shop in Krabi with authentic southern food offering. This place is made from wooden buildings which make it more homey and down to earth.
The signature menu of this restaurant is Curry Crab, Fried Pork Belly and Shrimp Paste. Delicious and authentic cuisine that everybody who visits Krabi should come and try. But the taste is strong and spicy so be careful before eating from a full spoon. Also, we recommend you to book the shop first as they’re popular and always crowded.

After a full stomach, we drove to the hotel to check in and rest for a day. Be ready and prepare for the next adventure on a second day.
On this day, we planned to go to the sea and hop to many islands. We bought a one-day diving trip beforehand so we can travel with no worries. After we finished the breakfast we waited for a bus from the tour to pick us up and drop off at the pier.
We boarded the boat and headed to Pileh Lagoon, famous for its beauty – a heaven on earth. It is a stunning inlet of Phi Phi island, located near another famous beach – Maya Bay. The cliffs surround the pool of crystal clear water. The temperature of the water is warm so when we dipped down we felt like we were relaxing in a bathtub.
Next destination is Viking Cave, but you can just see the save from afar as we cannot visit the cave. This cave has turned into a Bird's Nest Concession Island so only authorized people can enter.
Then it’s time to go diving! A shallow water dive at the first spot is not very far from Viking Cave. We put on snorkel and started exploring the underwater world.
After having fun for a while, we headed to Phi Phi Don which is an island that is full of every service. Hotels, cafes, restaurants or convenient stores – you name it. So we took a break around noon and had lunch here.
Mai Phai Island was our next destination. Another highlight of Krabi which is beautiful like others. The name of the island means bamboo, meaning that there were lots of bamboo on this island in the past, but they are all gone and what’s left is just a beautiful ocean and white sand beach.
Don’t forget to bring your bikini to wear on this trip because this island is the perfect place for your photoshoot! After relaxing and getting some good photos, we moved to the most famous destination – Maya Bay. You might have heard about this bay before as it was featured in the movie ‘The Beach’. It always attracted tourists from around the world so it was always crowded and occupied.
And that was the end of today’s tour. We explored natural attractions, both islands and the underwater world in Krabi. The trip is very useful and convenient. So try to book the tour beforehand!
Last day of this trip and we had only half a day left because we had a cheap flight to catch Bangkok. After having breakfast at the hotel we drove our car to Nang Bay and bought a boat ticket to Railay Beach with a 200 thb round ticket price. We took a 15 minutes ride. We would explore 4 beaches altogether today – TonSai Beach, East Railay Beach, West Railay Beach, Phra Nang Cave Beach. You can choose whichever beach you want to visit by just telling the driver.
Just 15 minutes away from East Railay Beach. We spotted stunning mountains with emerald colored water and a fine white sand beach. Not only can you relax and swim in the sea when you arrive at Railay Beach, but another activity that is interesting is rock climbing. Tourists can both explore nature and have a blast climbing the rocks!
We spent about 2 hours at Railay Beach, then it was time to get back in the car and to the airport. Even though it’s just 3 days and 2 nights, I think we got to travel to important places and beaches in Krabi. We felt like we got to rest and took a break from busy city life for a while – it's totally a worthwhile trip and worth your cheap flight here! When we arrived in Bangkok, we wanted to plan for our next trip right away!
