Best Time to Visit Nusa Dua Bali 2026: Seasons, Weather, and Travel Tips

Nusa Dua enjoys one of the most consistently pleasant climates in Bali, with temperatures between 28°C and 32°C year-round and no single month that makes travel genuinely inadvisable. That said, there are meaningful differences between seasons that affect everything from beach conditions and watersports availability to hotel rates and resort occupancy. This guide breaks down Nusa Dua's weather month by month and helps you match the right time to your travel priorities. Compare and book hotels in Nusa Dua on Traveloka to lock in the best rates for your dates.

Nusa Dua's Two Seasons: Dry vs Wet

Like the rest of Bali, Nusa Dua runs on a two-season calendar. The dry season runs broadly from April through October, with consistent sunshine, very low rainfall, and the most reliable conditions for beach activities and watersports. The wet season runs from November through March, bringing higher humidity and more frequent afternoon and evening rainfall. Critically, wet season rain in Nusa Dua follows a pattern: mornings are typically clear and sunny, with showers arriving in the afternoon or evening rather than lasting all day.

Nusa Dua's position on the sheltered southeastern coast of the Bukit Peninsula means it receives less rainfall than areas like Ubud, and its reef-protected beach conditions remain swimmable and safe in all seasons. This is a meaningful advantage over ocean-exposed beaches elsewhere in Bali, where wet season swells can make swimming unsafe. Book through Traveloka to compare resort rates across both seasons. Arrange an airport transfer from Ngurah Rai in advance for a fixed fare, or book a car rental if you plan to explore beyond the peninsula.

These Nusa Dua resorts are available across both seasons — compare availability and rates for your travel dates.

Dry Season in Nusa Dua: April to October

April and May mark the start of the dry season and represent one of Nusa Dua's best-value windows. Rainfall drops sharply, beach conditions are excellent, the landscape still carries green from the wet season, and resort rates have not yet climbed to peak levels. These months attract noticeably fewer visitors than July and August while offering weather that is almost as reliable. May is considered by many experienced Bali travellers to be among the best months of the year.

June, July, and August are peak season. Conditions are outstanding — dry, sunny, and breezy with the cooling southeast trade winds that make the Bukit Peninsula particularly comfortable. But this is also when Nusa Dua is at its most expensive and most occupied. Australian school holidays, European summer breaks, and regional holiday demand converge, driving five-star resort rates to their annual highs. Advance booking is essential across all property categories. The tradeoff is the best weather of the year combined with the most active resort atmosphere.

September is the sweet spot of the Nusa Dua calendar. The dry season is still in full effect, the post-August tourist wave has passed, and prices begin to soften while conditions remain excellent. Less crowded than July and August, cheaper than peak season, and still reliably sunny — September consistently earns strong marks from experienced Bali travellers.

Nusa Dua's dry season is ideal for beach and water activities. Browse available experiences and book in advance through Traveloka.

Wet Season in Nusa Dua: November to March

January and February are the wettest months, with January averaging up to 340mm of rainfall. The pattern is typically short, intense afternoon showers rather than sustained all-day rain, and mornings are often warm and clear. This is the cheapest time of year for both flights and hotels, with resort rates dropping significantly after the Christmas and New Year spike subsides in mid-January. The beach is swimmable and calm, the Water Blow natural blowhole is at its most dramatic with larger swells, and the Bukit Peninsula landscape is at its greenest. Ideal for budget-conscious travellers who can plan outdoor activities around afternoon weather.

March remains wet but begins to transition, with rainfall easing and temperatures warm. Nyepi, the Bali Day of Silence, falls in March and closes the entire island, including the airport, for 24 hours. It is worth planning around or deliberately into — a completely silent Bali with no lights, transport, or activity is a genuinely unique experience.

October is a transition month. Early October is frequently still dry and clear; later in the month, rainfall builds. The Nusa Dua Light Festival, a popular annual event featuring large-scale illuminated art installations at the ITDC enclave, typically runs across October and November — a distinctive draw during the shoulder period.

November is one of the cheapest months of the year and genuinely underrated for travel. Conditions are warmer and wetter, but the resort experience at Nusa Dua is relatively unaffected. December is split: the first two weeks are wet season with lower prices, but from around 20 December through early January, Christmas and New Year demand drives rates to peak or above-peak levels regardless of weather. If your dates fall in this window, book as far in advance as possible.

Nusa Dua's wet season offers some of the lowest flight prices of the year. Compare flights to Bali across all seasons on Traveloka to find the best fare for your dates.

What to Pack for Nusa Dua: Dry Season and Wet Season

Nusa Dua's tropical coastal climate keeps packing simple. A few essentials apply year-round; a handful of additions are worth adding for the wet season months.

Year-round essentials:

Lightweight, breathable clothing — cotton or linen works well in the heat and humidity
High-SPF sunscreen — the equatorial sun at Nusa Dua's white-sand beaches is significantly more intense than it appears, even on overcast days
Reef-safe sunscreen — both practically useful and considerate of the reef system that protects Nusa Dua's beaches
Rash vest or water shirt for watersports — UV protection during extended time on the water
Comfortable sandals and one pair of walking shoes for excursions beyond the beach

Wet season additions (October to March):

Compact umbrella or light rain jacket — adds minimal weight and covers afternoon showers reliably
Insect repellent — more useful in the evenings during the wetter months
