The Leea Darwin

I am writing to express my disappointment regarding my recent stay at The Leea. While we were aware prior to arrival that the swimming pool would be unavailable due to refurbishment works and appreciated being offered access to an alternative facility, several other issues significantly impacted our stay. Without any prior notice, roof pressure-cleaning works were carried out during our stay. The noise was extremely disruptive, and our room window was completely covered with plastic sheeting for the duration of our visit, leaving us with no view whatsoever. This should have been communicated before arrival so guests could make an informed decision. My son and I shared a room with two queen-sized beds. While my son's bed was comfortable and properly prepared, I struggled to sleep well and later discovered my bed had been fitted with only a single-bed doona. This basic housekeeping oversight was disappointing and below the standard expected. We also encountered issues with room service. After placing an order using the QR code menu and receiving confirmation, we were later advised that the chef would not prepare approximately half of the items ordered. No explanation, apology, or alternatives were offered. Although improvements are clearly being made to the pool area, much of the property appears dated. Given the rates charged, I expected a significantly higher standard of accommodation, communication, and service. Overall, the experience did not represent value for money.

Lovely stay close walking distance to the Mall. One thing though, we didn't realise the pool was out of action until after we booked. Didn't worry us but might worry others.

The hotel is a construction site and there was no prior notice of this before checking in. No pool to use and we had to navigate around tradies painting the exterior walls, the roof and pathways being high pressure washed and the sound of power tools from 7.15am. Not exactly the enjoyable stay we were expecting.

Was not informed that there were renovations so no pool or bar area. The restaurant was good. Across from shops. There is a paid laundry and the room has a coffee machine and kettle but no toasted. Kids were placed in a room down the other end of the hall from our room so not together.

I believe this is the best hotel in Darwin. Elegant, clean and everything was easy. Good breakfast and great bathroom

Great location and friendly staff. Lovely breakfast and restaurant food on an evening. Best shower I've had in a hotel. Unfortunately, the pool area was being upgraded during my stay (of which I was aware), but I was given a free voucher for entry to the wave lagoon as an alternative.

The listing mentioned a pool, however the pool is currently under construction. Had this been disclosed prior to booking, we would have chosen to stay somewhere else. The buffet breakfast was also not worth the advertised value of $30. In addition, we had to contact reception to have our rubbish removed because our room was not cleaned on the first day. Due to the construction, parking was also very limited and we were told to park on the street. Overall, this was not worth the money that I paid to stay there. In hindsight, another property would have served us better.

Hotel is very good and I got a clean room. The staff were very friendly and helpful. It’s also a good location for tour pickups and is right opposite a Woolworths which is great. It’s also a short walk from Crocosauras Cove which makes it a great location

The Loft apartments were well maintained and spacious, really great for a family wanting to have meals either out or in, to save money

Hotel smell terrible, jack hammering where the pool use to be.t.v not working. Staff were rude & not helpful they were actually rude for mo reason.the carpet in the room has stains.all the xatpet threw out the hotel was filthy.i wouldnt advise anyone to stay here

Clean room, decor bit outdated but I noticed lots of renovations being done, new pool going in as well. Friendly staff. Gave me an upgrade.

I got to Darwin after quite a roundabout trip, so I was really needing somewhere friendly and nice to stay. The Leea was close to the city and although going though massive renovations, provided a very welcoming and pleasant experience. The bed was good, the facilities very good and the view from the room especially at night was lovely.

Pool was being upgraded and was not aware of this at the time of booking. I would have booked somewhere else
