Hotel Babula am Augarten

This is an inexpensive, friendly hotel close to the 2 tram line (which goes to a lot of useful places) and to the Praterstern station. The staff was nice, and we enjoyed having the hotel restaurant available for breakfast and dinner when we didn't want to or have time to go elsewhere. The room was good, though a little rough around the edges. We had a top floor room, which had a small window but also had an air conditioner, which kept it pretty comfortable in some July heat.

Good location. Nice place, but very few amenities. The room was bare only a bed and desk. No mini fridge, or anywhere to place luggage. Bathroom was decently sized but no counter space. There was a lift to get up to the top floors but it was mostly out of order. Otherwise it was close to activities in the area and grocery stores

We’ve traveled all over the world but this hotel was garbage. We got to the room. The smell was awful. My partner went down stairs to let the receptionist know. He admitted that a pipe had burst that week and that haven’t been able to fix it. The fan that was in the room which was meant to cool the place down was blowing out hot air. Stains all over the rotten carpet floor. And what looked like sex stains on the bean bag. Just a terrible experience We couldn’t sleep in that more or be moved to another room so we have to canceled get a new hotel and complained to hotels.com.

There is a room without A/C it is very terrible to sleep

No fridge. No air conditioning. Room very hot at night. Room was quite spacious with night ceilings. There was no kettle. So very basic. I’d hate to stay there in hot weather

Quiet place. Minimalist room. 2 blocks to tram stop.

A great economical option for short term. Easy to get to from airport via train.

We stayed here in February 2026. While the location was convenient, we unfortunately had a very upsetting experience during our stay. After housekeeping accessed our room on the third day, my engagement ring was discovered missing. It had been placed together with other jewellery, which remained untouched. We reported this immediately, but were informed that no manager was on site and that there was no formal incident reporting process available at the time. We were also told that no further assistance could be provided. It was a my word against theirs situation. This was extremely distressing, and we were disappointed by the lack of clear procedure and management support in such a serious situation.

The room was clean, big and comfortable, i did like the breakfasts, they were fresh. The staff at the reception desk were kind. The night bartender guy was very rude

Nice atmosphere, nice and ready to help staff and nice rooms, perhaps the only caveat was the small lift. but that would be the only thing

Clean room and excellent service. On the flip side, the room has old furniture that were assembled from different places, no tv, bathroom needs repair (shower leaking and hot water is not constant) and painting (cracks)

This is a very basic stay. I would only stay here if it is for a night or two. It is 20 min walk from the city center and there is no tv, no air con and the bathroom is uncomfortably small.

No early check in allowed. Hotel seemed new and was very clean. Beds were very hard. Nice restaurant attached. Close to trams and metro.

Good choice

Very friendly and helpful staff who spoke excellent english. Great restaurant with delicious food. Nice sized rooms. Only complaint is the mattress was too hard for my liking and the bathroom floor smelt bad. I suspect the mop the cleaning staff uses is getting old and stinky. Overall great hotel for the price with a nice walk to the main part of the city.

I would've given this hotel a poor rating but all of the staff was wonderful and the location was good. But wow, was it run down! The bathroom and bed in our room was clean, but the floors really need updated. A mini fridge would be a great addition as well.
