Excellent location close to Manama bus terminal and many shops, restaurants, food stalls and malls. Very convenient and comfortable. Friendly staff.

Good location in the market near harbor and municipal bus to airport. No towels, no water, no kettle, no glasses, no fridge. Only one socket working. Feels like 10$/night, not 35$. Cheaper to book this one on expedia then on the desk

The bathroom nobs and fixtures needs to be replaced. Old and rusty cruddy looking.

A great location near Bab al Bahrain and the souq, the hotel has maybe seen better days but for the price it was good value. Issues with wi-fi and the TV were quickly fixed

Good location; clean & big room. My 6th floor room is quiet (despite the place being near to the souk) and has good wifi reception.

I couldn’t stay at this hotel due to the musty old stench of cigarettes. It was unclear if they had a single room that was non-smoking. It seemed to be optional. However, even if it had been a while since a smoker, the drapes, bedding and wallpaper reeked of it. :( They attempted to give me another room that was “very clean” which meant the freshly chemically cleaned floors were now masking the musky smokey smell of the room. The man at the desk was very kind and arranged for me to stay at a sister hotel - The Sea Shell Hotel - which was much cleaner over all. However, the room was still musty but at least did not reek of smoke. No windows, so no access to fresh air. This was the most expensive private room I’ve paid for in my 6+ months of travel and was the least nice.

Big hotel which drivers know. In the heart of Manama. Everything was correct.

Awal is situated in the heart of the souk. It is an older gracious style of hotel but very solid with a faded charm. It represents excellent value for money and I would return in a heartbeat.

The hotel is in a very crowded area very close to the Manama souk. Initially we found it very hard to find it in our rental car bcs of arriving at early am and all the one way streets. The hotel could provide info as to how to get to the front door from the airport. That said the parking arrangements are good - managed by the hotel and secure. The room facilities were basic but very comfortable and clean. Everything we asked for came quickly and with a smile. The fridge and A/C were excellent. Pvt balcony for smoking. Large room and clean well appointed bathroom. Bathroom issues were water pressure and temperature - needs fixing. But it is 2 minutes from Bab el Bahrain and the Manama souk. I would stay here again.

The staff were great but the hotel a little tired. The location is nosy at night but really interesting to walk around. Felt safe wandering alone, plenty of places to eat and the hotel has it's own carpark which was a real benefit as on street parking is really tough to find a space.

if you can stand cockroaches and flies, it is okay. Great service, front desk manager was helpful, changed room to sixth floor, but still condition was not really good. Budget wise also may not be the right price. Hotel across the road, International Hotel (five stars) was charging BHD 33 and Awal Hotel charged me BHD 22. Better to pay more and have comfortable stay. I wouldn't recommend price wise and cleanliness wise. I booked for single room and was charged for double.

Near all the places you have wanted to go. The restaurant, shops and nightlife are all walking distance from the hotel. A great value indeed
