Beautiful location with horse and goats in the garden, balcony was amazing we could have just stayed there all day. However we chose this location to view the war graves and the lost post bridge and it was a perfect location. Breakfast was amazing, fridge well stocked with wine and beer. The just was friendly and helpful. This was our last stop on our two week trip around Northern Europe and we definitely saved the best til last. We hope to be back as there was so much to see we didn’t get it all done 🤗

Wonderful accommodation and hosts, ideal for a trip to Ypres. Easy walking distance to the Yorkshire Trench. Ypres is only a couple of miles down the road. Our hosts were fantastic and the breakfast plentiful. Expansive views over the surrounding area. Very much recommended.

We stayed 3 nights March 2024 and it was absolutely fabulous! Our hostess made us very welcome, all spotlessly clean, fab breakfast and rolls to takeaway for lunchtime. It's a great location to pay your respects at the WW1 war graves and to visit the museums. Ypres is a wonderful town with excellent local restaurants, chocolate shops and obviously the Menin Bridge with the 8pm "Last Post" every evening. It was a shame that the bridge is currently covered for renovations but this didn't detract from the experience. The location was also perfect to visit Bruges for a day ...which was well worth doing. Our host also gave us the tip to park at the station In Bruges for ease and price. We had a wonderful stay, totally recommend!

Out of all my travels to 33 different countries this is one of the few places I've stayed where I truly want to return not just to the locale, but to the exact same room in the same Inn. Honestly if I could afford to I'd offer to buy this place and make it my home. And the people who run it are lovely. They even insisted to refund me a small fee because I don't eat breakfast so they didn't need to provide anything for me. I liked this place so much I made my own bed because it deserved it. I will be back. For a much longer stay.

This place, the atmosphere and the hostess are all amazing. I loved everything about it and I am a picky person. The hostess speaks impeccable English and the breakfast was outstanding-- you could tell there was a genuine interest in making the stay memorable from start to finish. This is one place I would never grow tired of visiting and it is near several cemeteries and a interesting trench, I never knew about. All in all, perfect, I only wished I had had more time to explore the area!

My husband and I were here for just one night but absolutely loved the setting and surroundings. The breakfast was very good with eggs how you like and different cheeses and breads. Would stay again for certain if not just for the sheep and chickens :)

Our host Katja and husband Sandi were wonderful. They welcomed us with coffee and tea. They were so accommodating and gave us great directions and advice on local sites. We learned later that the B&B was situated right on the battlefield and front lines of the WW1 battle at Ypres. The location was very central and close to downtown and all attractions/sites. The room was large, very clean and comfortable. Breakfast was delicious.

Excellent B&B with 5 rooms in a separate building and a central dining room/ kitchen/ lounge for all guests. Rooms a very good size with excellent facilities. An honesty bar operates in the Kitchen so you can easily have a beer or glass of wine when you get back from a meal out. Tea/coffee making (real coffee machine) available for free. A ten minute stroll down the road to the Yorkshire Trenches. Owner is extremely helpful and friendly - lives in the next door building. Lovely patio and garden looking towards Ypres - excellent on a sunny day.

I chose to stay at B&B Back2Front because it was highly rated and where I wanted to be in order to visit Ypres, the massive World War I battlefield in southwestern Belgium. Located outside of Ypres in a very quiet field overlooking some tall windmill towers, the B&B is quiet, appropriate for such a setting. You need a car for sure but then you have the mobility you need. The B&B has limited check-in hours (4-6 pm) so you need to be on time. Katje was very welcoming and after a cup of coffee and explanation about the kitchen, showed me to a spacious, clean, and comfortable room. She also provided information about the area and the battlefields. The town of Ypres is about 10 min. away by car and easy to get to. It is worth visiting the old part of the city (though everything has been rebuilt since WWI's devastation) as well as the nearby Menin Gate, a large memorial to UK and UK colonial forces where there is a ceremony each night at 8 pm. Back at the B&B, I slept well, enjoyed a hot shower, and a huge and tasty breakfast, so much so I could not even think of having a piece of freshly baked apple pie. The meal was excellent. The B&B is located right on parts of the battlefront and small cemeteries are dotted around the landscape nearby (there are 170 cemeteries from the four years of battles). Passendale and the large British cemetery of Tyne Cot nearby are worth a visit. There is a self-guided 9 km route beginning at Menim Gate if you have the time - well worth it

Lovely setting but remote. You need a car and will have to drive out for restaurants etc. I enjoyed an hour sat on my terrace with a delicious beer from the honestly bar. Nice spacious room.
