Residences Université Laval - Campus Accommodation

Poor communication and management. I was given a parking discount code, but it doesn't work on the app and the QR code. The lady at the front desk doesn't know what to do, and I called the app's customer service, they also don't know. So I had to pay the full price. The second day, another person at the front desk told me that I need to pay at the machine, but there's no machine at the parking lot. The machine is actually at International Center, which is a different building. Took me at least 3 trips to the front desk to sort this out. Oh, and the front desk is also in a different building. The room is clean, but small and a bit cold. The portable heater in the room is broken. Called room service, she asked me to drive to front desk to get another one. When I got there, the front desk is already closed. The next day, front desk told me that room service will handle this. Oh well... Will NOT stay here again.

Room was good, just very small bathroom and uncomfortable shower that had green shower tip. The rest room seemed clean and warm. Staff was fine, we were glad they worked till 11 pm. They spoke both French and English which is a big thing for Quebec City. We had issues with the cards accessing the campus area as the front desk person didn’t set fully up and we almost spent Christmas Eve on the streets, but likely we got helped by students staying on campus ( huge thanks!). It’s a decent place to stay a night or two, we stayed four. Transportation around was decent and you could use the tunnels to reach to the bus stop, we just didn’t know how so walked. Safe area and quite around. It was only loud in the room at nights when someone talked loudly on the phone at 2 am. In general good for a short stay!

C'était tellement froid. Qqun est venu voir le premier soir, à confirmer qu'il fedait froid, nous as dit je vous reviens, on est parti 2 jours plus tard sans aucune nouvelle. C'est vraiment platte parce que sinon c'est un excellent endroit.

Check-in was terrible - very confusing, and the receptionist had poor English (not her fault in a predominantly French province, but surprising given that a lot of guests will not speak French). We were told we had to pay extra for a parking permit, and were sent on a wild goose chase around the huge campus to pay for and get a permit. The building we were sent to was completely wrong and no-one knew anything - so we gave up and went into the city for sightseeing given our limited time. We came back that evening to sort out parking - a different lady at reception with better English told us we had to scan a QR code in the parking lot where we were staying (about 1km from reception) and download an app and pay for parking on the app (very different instructions to what we were told before). She said it would cost $5 and we were given an 8-character discount code to qualify for 50% discount. We drove to our accommodation building/parking lot, downloaded the app - the parking cost was $17.50 and the discount code invalid - it needed to be 6 characters. It was too late (reception closed at 9pm) and we didn't want to risk having our car impounded by the company that patrols the car park, so we had little choice but to pay $17.50. We had no energy to go to reception the next day and try to explain what happened and fight for a refund. Very poor service. Other than that, the room was great. If you're fluent in French, this is a great place to stay.

This was a horrible accomodation, smelled awful and terrible bathroom availability, especially for the elderly. Did not know about actual accom. until paid and at site. Cancelled stay but cannot get money back. Feel like we were scammed.

The best thing about the property is that its safe, quiet, has free parking and easy access to buses

For tge price you dont get much. You get a dirty bed. Pillow with spots and stains and an uncomfy bed. And no airconditioning

The bed was not too clean. The dining area is located on the bottom floor, and was very inconvenient to go down everytime if I had to heat food. Plus, it has a shared fridge that is very small. Me and my friends had put our respective food in the shared fridge one night and the next morning everything was gone when we went to check. Shared area does not feel safe.

It’s a great place for the price! It’s in a quiet area, clean, and both the front desk staff as well as room service are polite and professional. It is essentially a dorm with a shared bathroom among the hallway, but superb for the price!

Shared washroom and bathroom are quite clean. There are plentiy parking spaces. No kitchen or microwave.

Clean and affordable.

There was unfortunately no air conditioning.

Silence on the site !

The beds and room were not clean, and there was no refund. The room had a smell. I would not recommend it to a family.
