Conveniently located by the Baquedano metro stop and bus stops, this charming guesthouse has a European feel. Staff are kind and attentive and the rooms and facilities are very clean. They serve a healthy and filling breakfast every day. Sometimes a little noisy from the streets and other guests. I would absolutely stay here again.

It is a nice place in a cantral part of town. The staff are very nice and help out where they can. The rooms are well equipped, not luxurious but more than adequate for the price.

Such a comfortable, safe, and welcoming hostel in an excellent central location. Service was so fantastic and Ginny the dog was a lovely bonus.

I don't have many hostal experiences but this is worth every penny. The food delicious and the staff super. The only bad thing is that the floor of the room is made of wood and you can hear your moves and other guest. Also it was uncomfortable that early in the morning or late at night you can hear loud people. But everything was amazing. I was a solo traveler and felt safe. Even doe I came in at night.

I was very comfortable during my stay at Hostal Rio Amazonas. The room and property were exceptionally clean. Staff was very helpful. I had cool air through my windows at night, and it was surprisingly quiet considering its central location. Would stay again!

This was a great find in walking distance of major sites. it was one of the best values of any hotel I have ever stayed in. it is an older building, clean and charming. The staff could not have been nicer and the food was good. I would definitely recommend this hotel and stay there again.

We stayed here for just 1 night but very early check-in (06.00am), staff are very helpful and prompt response to our questions during booking and requested.
During our stay Jimmy and Alex again very helpful recommend places to go where to eat including transportation assist.
Room are clean, BF great, easy to go around Hanoi, we have 0 complaint about this hotel.
After we left, we forgot some money in hotel safe box, once again staff very helpful transferred money back to our account.
Highly recommend, 5 Star with big thank you from us. We will back there for sure.

Our second stay at this hotel and again we found it very welcoming and comfortable. The hotel is a lovely arts and crafts style building in a central position.
The bedroom was small but adequate with a comfortable bed; we both slept well. Breakfast is a limited buffet style meal but tasty and ample enough to get the day started well. The locality was a little more depressed than on our previous visit due to civil unrest a few years ago.

The breakfast was nice - not a buffet, but served at your choice of patio (2) or dining room (2) locations, or in the bar! The room was clean and comfortable, and the shower had good water pressure. It was very much worth the cost.

I had a terrific experience during my 3 day stay at the Hostal Rio Amazonas. The accommodation was very nice, very quiet and the atmosphere very relaxing. All members of the staff that assisted me, from arriving, to room and laundry care, to breakfast and dinner service were better than excellent. The friendly and helpful personal touch extended to guests was very much appreciated. Access to subway very easy. I highly recommend this hotel. Thank you very much for the hospitality.

We planned 2 nights in Mar. 2020 near the core of Santiago. Booking July 2019 before the protests/riots of October, we were unaware that the protesters chose to organize only two blocks north from this beautiful hostal. Check-in & other services were spot-on with an inside bar, homemade yogurt/juice for breakfast. But, per a March resurgence in protests/riots, we found our 1st night uncomfortably warm in the room.
We had to shut the window to block out the noise and tear gas that encircled streets around the hostal. We chose to leave before the second night. We were mostly concerned that we might not be able to leave Sunday afternoon for the airport. We are so grateful for the faithful staff that kept calm and collected during that Friday night. We hope that things will resolve soon so that this lovely hostal will again be in a quiet and comfortable place.
