Love the free breakfast - porridge, pawpaw, bananas (everything) / The lady who serviced our room provided an excellent job. Having a room on the 3rd floor with a balcony was awesome where I can sit and do my writing. I will bring my whole family the next time I come to Rarotonga. Rarotonga is now my destination.

the entire resort is aged and needs a preventative maintence schedule in place, we had water leaking in the bathroom roof , we then had to move rooms after the issue couldnt be resolved .. in the next room tv didnt work and the door handle fell off the balcony door which then left our room unlockable for a 12 hour period .. until i complained again . I felt that we were reporting issues twice daily throughout our stay

The resort was OK but needs an overhaul as everything just felt a bit dated and tired. There are around 300 rooms but only one small pool. There weren't too many places to just sit and relax. There is only a handful of restaurants within walking distance and they were just OK. Staff were friendly but our traveling companions had issues either their room and it took a while to have it sorted. The worst thing though was the f***ing roosters at all hours. Earplugs or nose cancelling headphones are a must. Unlikely to travel to Cook Islands again but if I did, I wouldn't stay here.

Through Expedia I booked a Garden Superior Room and was offered a third-floor room that was not acceptable. Online, Expedia clearly shows pictured a Garden Superior Room ground floor. Secondly, no mention of surcharges. The main complaint was at the Edgewater Reception - talk about trying it on - not acceptable, considering I am paying over $NZ500/night for the room. Also, not taking into consideration my age of 77yrs - I do have some minor mobility issues and climbing flights of stairs with no lifts available is not acceptable. Noise was another factor, especially from disrespectful neighboring guests. Management did offer a NZ$100 credit and a 12.00 check-out. On a positive note, the room cleaner and general catering staff where A1 - they are the glue to the Edgewater Resort. Generally, I did enjoy my stay at Edgewater - the food was good and the sunny weather helped. Summarizing, both Expedia and Edgewater need to be totally upright with surcharges and room allocation.

The place itself is ok, the problem is more with the guests. We were surprised how loud the kiwis were, how bogan some of the Aussies were and how many kids were there. Screaming and shouting all day, pool full of kids from dawn till dusk and people coming and going at all hours, shouting and banging doors. We barely got a decent night's sleep. No real options if you want to walk offsite for drinks, meal or supermarket. Its saving grace is that it has an adults-only sister resort (Club Raro) with a courtesy bus running all day. It is nice and quiet, has a nice pool with a pool bar and better food. We wish we'd stayed there instead.

Property was a bit dated but rooms comfortable enough. The housekeeping and reception staff were lovely but those around restaurant and pool not so, they were unfriendly, often bickering among themselves. Families around the pool were moved 230-3pm for dinner set up. There are no other options of places to sit to watch your children apart from on the other side on the sand. Not safe. The resort is in a great place good snorkeling out front and kods club was good.
