Lovely property in the middle of nowhere, the perfect spot to relax and enjoy wonderful views

Beautiful location and garden grounds. The bathroom trash was full and a wet piece of underwear was also on the floor. We were charged $12 USD for using our credit card even though we chose charging in local currency. Breakfast buffet was low even by 8:30 but remaining fruits were fresh and tasty. We had had a late arrival (9:45pm) which we confirmed via email.

Super experience. Great nature, impressive views, great breakfast buffet. Room with sea view, a bit tiny, but all in all excellent.

Check in was easy. Some sloped ceilings were pointed out. Bathroom in jr. suite was the best we encountered of 3 stays in Denmark. Suite was roomy and comfortable. Enjoyed dinner at restaurant one night and drinks another. Food was excellent and portions were large. Only one vegetarian option or we would have dined there second night. Breakfast was a treat. View was lovely. Host made the stay.

Location across from fjord beautiful. Very lovely gardens. Nice personnel and excellent Danish food. Comfy beds.

One night stop over. Stayed here before, had such a lovely time it was well worth a repeat visit. Service was excellent and with a smile. Dinner was lovely, beautifully cooked and presented, breakfast was perfect too. Our room/suite offered great value and comfort, you’ll not be disappointed if you stay and dine in.

What a fantastic find. Our drive from Jersey to Norway was made all the better for staying here the night. Our Suite was lovely, Dinner was amazing, I’ll need to diet for a week to bank up my calories again. The staff could not have been any more friendly and fun too. I can 100% recommend this little gem, We’ll be back for sure.

We had a lovely stay in a not too big room, that had what we needed. Toilet with shower, minibar, free WiFi, very nice bed, TV. And the best of all was that it was perfectly clean everywhere. Good service and breakfast served at the table. No doubth that we will choose this if we come by another time.

It was perfect in every way. Idyllic location, wonderful room and restaurant was convenient and delicious with excellent service. Highly recommend this hotel!

Great family hotel. Very well maintained and very nice views through the balcony. Breakfast simple but good. A little noise from the street if you keep the balcony open.

Hotellet har en fantastisk beliggenhed og er meget velholdt. Haven er velanlagt og hyggelig. Værelset var meget beskeden i størrelse og der manglede behagelige stole. Der var en dårlig lydisolering i forhold til naboværelserne. Morgenmaden var beskeden. Spisekortet i den dyre ende. Alt i alt et udmærket ophold, men i forhold til prisen med nogle klare mangler.

Clean, but very outdated “look”. Stayed in the suite which felt more like a beach house than hotel room. Private garden was nice however also quite close to the main road which meant noice.

Great room, excellent service and delicious food. Great choice for a cosy weekend away from home.

I arrived at Fjordkroen around 8 pm, dinner time. standing close to the entrance of the restaurant I was told 'barked would be a more apt description' by a waiter (I believe he was the co-owner of Fjordkroen) to wait with my suitcase where I stood, Someone would be coming. at least that is what I understood as I don't speak Danish. Anyway, I nevertheless walked up to the bar where a friendly lady (the owner I assume) asked me if I wanted to dine and if so when could they expect me? She showed me to my room (junior suite which turned out to be the only room with their own bathroom and toilet) but didn't inform me about the light switches etc nor what time breakfast would be. she seemed only worried at my timely arrival at dinner as the kitchen apparently stops at 9.30 pm. The room itself was nice and spacey with a nice view over the lake/sea. However, if you are a light sleeper you will be woken up by the traffic (about 25 cars per hour) that starts at 6.15 as their is a road right in front of the hotel (between the hotel and the sea).

This place was a paradise on earth. A beautiful house surrounded by a pretty garden of roses and lavender right by the sea. A genuine room with a view. We arrived very late when they were already closing the restaurant. However, they kept the kitchen open for us and we had an amazing dinner on the terrace. Really fresh, delicious fish and plenty to eat. The staff took such good care of us. Later on we had a glass of wine on the terrace of our room admiring the house, the garden, the sunset and the sea. Such a perfect night. I should add that the room was rather standard, the breakfast was good but nothing exceptional and the bathroom was rather small (still quite adequate), but this was all trivial compared to the sheer beauty of the place. It really was worth the drive from the motorway.

Nice little hotel with clean, comfortable and recently-updated rooms and stunning views over the adjacent lake on a clear day. Customer service left something to desired, however. We arrived prior to 3pm check-in and needed somewhere to get changed before attending a friend’s wedding nearby. Our room was empty, but owner wouldn’t let us use it to change our clothes as it hadn’t been cleaned yet. Despite us being fine with this, he told us to use the restaurant toilets instead - not a pleasant experience during a busy lunchtime!

My wife and I were looking for a quiet place to spend a few nights after a 6 week trip before flying out of Copenhagen. What an incredible surprise this quaint Hotel turned out to be. The location was convenient to Copenhagen Airport (less than 1 hour drive) in a beautiful location, quiet and the staff incredibly friendly and helpful. The rooms were very well equipped, clean and bright with a little porch for sitting, relaxing and enjoying the views. The best part of our experience was the restaurant, we enjoyed the best meals of our trip having dinner in the restaurant 2 nights in a row which we never do. The service was excellent and the food exquisite. The restaurant is worth driving from Copenhagen for dinner even if not staying at the hotel.
