Hotel Postgaarden

Very nice little place. Friendly and helpful staff. Good breakfast. Lovely courtyard. Comfortable bed but small. Right on the walking street. Close to shopping and restaurants. Ribe is a very hyggelig little town.

Very nice staff, spacious room, excellent location!!! Unfortunately, the foundation mattress in our room was not properly supported underneath and we both woke up in the center of the bed with terribly sore backs. A properly supported, good mattress, should be a minimum requirement for a hotel.

Everyone was so friendly & helpful, and they spoke English. Jens helped us old people get the luggage up the stairs & gave helpful tips & directions. The hotel itself was old and quaint, just as it should be for the oldest town in Denmark. Step outside the hotel door, and we were on the village’s main pedestrian walkway. The whole experience was a wonderful step back in time for us.

This is a very old property with rooms just off a lovely garden. Staff were very amiable. Perfect location from which to explore Ribe.

Liked the charm and character, especially the courtyard where you could sit and enjoy coffee in the morning or beer in the afternoon. The room was quaint but needed a few additional items such as a small table beside the bed and something in the bathroom to put toiletries on.

The rooms and bath were old-fashioned but very clean, the proprietress was very welcoming and the breakfast was delicious. Only downside were the guests in the room next to us which talked loudly until 4am… the guests in the other adjoining room were quiet, so maybe that was just bad luck.

There seems to be no better way to see Denmark's oldest city than by staying in one of its oldest inns! Jens is a great host and the breakfasts provided are suitable to keep you going for a whole day. We had rooms with shared bathrooms and that worked great during our three day stay. The rooms are charming -- we embraced the shorter ceilings, post and beams, and slanted floors when we made the reservations and were definitely not disappointed. There is a small shared sitting area upstairs if you want to gather. In terms of location, Hotel Postgaarden is central to exploring all of Ribe and while it is on one of the main streets in the center of town, it is not at all noisy. Most of the stores close up shop by 5pm and many of the local restaurants are down the street a bit. So very quiet in the evening.

Great location and spacious room but Wifi is poor and unstable. No bathgel as it is unavailable.

Old furniture that was broken. But Nice service with free Tea and coffee. The owner had a very large treasure of knowledge of the area.

We definitely enjoyed our stay here. The place has a very nice feel--very artsy, not like your usual hotel. Our room was very pretty, old-fashioned but a little quirky, with a big 4-poster bed and some lovely artwork. We'd definitely stay here again.

A town you must put on your agenda for history and culture. Postgaarden B&B is in the centre, great location. Very welcoming. Good breakfast. Building was erected in 1552 and has low ceilings but is comfortable. Shared bathroom was not an issue. Clean and tidy. Value for money and rated very good by us.

Super hyggeligt og fint hotel. Rigtig i gammel stil med en masse fine billeder på væggene. Kro fatter servede en fin morgenmad- vi kommer gerne igen 😊

Dejligt skøn , autentisk sted hvor du lander tilbage i bedsteforældres tid. Kan kun anbefales.

Meget autentisk og sjovt at prøve. Sødt værelse med himmelseng, dog toilet og bad på gangen, men det var nyrenoveret så i flot stand. Opholdet var inkl. dejlig morgenmad.
