Such a wonderful location with a very welcoming host who makes an excellent breakfast. Highly recommended for peace and quiet away from it all

The location of the property was peaceful and was surrounded by beautiful countryside. The owner was a great host who made us feel welcome..We enjoyed our stay.

This is such a quirky but amazing place to stay in. Very cosy with a comfy bed. Shower was superb. Lovely views all around. The breakfast was freshly cooked and delicious. Would definitely stay here again.

Beautiful house Was greeted by Steve who was very welcoming Bed was amazingly comfortable Lovely big room and bathroom Breakfast was first class and very relaxing atmosphere Hope to return and would highly recommend staying here

We stayed for 2 nights, Steve was so helpful, the cottage was stunning, it felt like going back a few decades. We would most definitely stay here again

No shops but didn’t really need them

The place was so deserted in the bush. Besides that, heating in my room was off by 22:00 and the room was cold and generally I didn’t like it at all feeling cold most of the night. Also the Idea of going downstairs to make a. Cup of tea I didn’t like it. I had to carry the remaining small milk in the bottle to my room. But the owner was. Informed about the milk.

The room was in a good condition. I was warm & comfortable. The breakfast was really nice. It was cooked to perfection & the pot of tea was made exactly how I like it. The only issue that made me feel a little uncomfortable was that the member of staff on duty was courteous but didn't want to engage in any small talk at all, almost like I was being rushed so as she could finish her shift & go home. On the day that I was due to leave I had until 10.30am to vacate my room. I started to pack up all my belongings before breakfast at 8.30am & I had begun to put my luggage on the landing ready to carry down the stairs to my car . When I had started to load my car at 10am I thought that I had 30 minutes to make up my flask of tea in my room for my journey of 4 hours home & to use the bathroom again, but unfortunately the member of staff was in my room already after I had been to my car to pack up the 1st load of my luggage & she had stripped the bed already telling me that she thought that I had left!. I was shocked & replied that no I hadn't left yet & that I would have said goodbye!. I felt very uncomfortable & rushed by this & I was unable to make my flask for my long journey ahead etc. I was very disappointed that I couldn't carry out the plans that I had made for those 30 minutes. I felt very rushed indeed!.

No host on site. Difficult to contact (the direct dial via booking page does not work). Eventually after waiting in the rain for 20minutes was told the key was under the doormat & to let myself in. I was alone in the property until 8 am the next day.

We checked in approx 6.45pm (en-route to dropping our daughter back at her uni digs in Bath & returned after) on a dark January evening. Seemed to be in the middle of nowhere, but we found it OK. Welcomed by Victoria - Steve (owner) was on holiday. Shown to our room & how we had access to the lounge & kitchen. Such a lovely house. Lots to look at. No TV in our room, so thought we’d watch the one downstairs - it wasn’t to be, though, as we couldn’t find the remote control - lol! Too late by then to bother Victoria. Never mind! Comfy bed, plenty of ventilation (which we need, even in January!). No shower as such; a bath with a shower head, so me & my husband held the head for each other! Different, but not a problem. Breakfast tasty. Really looked after by Victoria in the morning, who ensured we had enough food & drink. Would definitely recommend.

We thoroughly enjoyed our recent stay in this delightful cottage and look forward to returning soon.
