Lovely rooms, nice and warm with all the essentials. Car ev chargers on site. Not fast charge but as staying overnight not an issue. Food was scrumptious. Steak and ale pie was stuffed with meat, plenty of mash and gravy. Chicken burger was mouth wateringly delicious. Good selection at breakfast but I stuck with toast and marmalade. Overall a very pleasant stay and great for the park and ride into town or the racecourse.

Excellent good-sized room, spotlessly clean too. The Charlcombe Inn is right next to Bath racecourse and would be a great base for visiting Bath. Quality breakfast was incuded in the price and a shout out to the staff in the Inn as they couldn't have been more helpful.

Great location for park and ride into Bath. We stayed in the main building-this was a mistake. It was noisy-the annex (where we have stayed before) is much better. Our room had a great view of the race course but unfortunately was directly above the kitchen. Kitchen smells and noise drifted up and on one occasion very loud music from the kitchen. The room needed some tlc. Paintwork very shabby. The bathroom was very poky and not very clean. The toilet had nasty staining in the pan and the outside of the toilet down to the floor had not been cleaned for a long time. There was a layer of dust on the sink pipes and the sink drained water away very slowly. The sink plug did not work. Mould on the wall/bathroom mirror was far too high and the towel ring was not usable as it had become detached from the wall. No bedside lamp on one side of the bed and hole in duvet. The steep stairs leading up to the room (particularly the handrail) and security doors were very dirty. Evening meal was good and lovely waitress. Cooked breakfast choices were good but breakfast table ran out of yogurt and had very sparse offerings. Our greatest disappointment was the bar. We went down for a glass of wine at 8.45pm (there were hardly any customers around) and at 9.20pm we were abruptly told they were locking up and we had to hastily drink and retreat to our room feeling rather embarrassed. The bar was advertised on line as open until 10pm. Not an appropriate way to treat guests. Very disappointing

The place was very convenient for Bath, and the breakfast was great (although the restaurant service was ver slow) but the lock on our door was broken so we had to leave the door unlocked for our whole stay.

A few things went wrong. A HOO ha getting the heating fired up, then a VERY limited menu at dinner. That’s fine if it’s all top notch and exiting but it’s burger, pie or fish and chips (not proper chips jist reformed potato freezer stuff). I had the pie which arrived over cooked - pastry was impregnable! I pointed this out but there was no offer of it being replaced. Earlier there was a ‘the pies on/off debate, the significance of which emerged when I spent the rest of the night with food poisoning. Good: friendly staff and a great range of beer but I’m not likely to head back soon.
