Great location near Kings Cross. Staff helpful and friendly.

I booked a room with private bath. The room was very spacious, even with a King bed in it. The bath was large also. It was at a corner, offering quietness and privacy. There were a lot of school kids from likely Spain, literally hundreds, but this did not bother me at all. The full breakfast was great at 9.50 pounds. Also tried a hamburder for dinner - it was amazing! Easy walk to the Brunswick and Euston stations. There are a bunch of cafes and eating places next to the Generator. Overall, this was a good place to stay. I will return again if the opportunity presents itself. Staff was great!

Accomodating, Flexible & Affordable

A wonderful place to hang out. Very convenient to Kings Cross. And a very lively place to stay!

More fresh air in the rooms is necessary, and during check-in, no one explains anything; they just give you the room.

Everything i needed for a single night trip room was clean. Lockable drawer a good dize. Shower room was closed for maintenence which was frustrating hut would stay again

Breakfast was to many people at the same time and not given any bed sheets or pillow cases and lockers on showers do not work , Put bed was comfortable and staff were friendly ,

Helpful front desk staff. Clean bathrooms and bed was comfortable. Great breakfast and cool bar to enjoy a nice beverage. I recommend them highly.

Dark and not inviting No one tells you where bathrooms are. Bed are terrible and uncomfortable

Nice affordable place

Very small in a small bunk bed room, no window to breathe. Staff are not friendly, all staff look at you with a doubt and suspect in pre condition. Weird London stay

My stay was lovely was only here one night lovely bar. Diego at reception desk was very helpful in making my stay a comfortable and pleasant one.

Cheap and cheerful stay at the Generator. Great location (easy walking distance to King's Cross and other tube stations) and it had everything you needed really. Shop for toiletries etc., free sanitary products, lockers available to purchase for the day, and even a great bar with some great food at a reasonable price. Outside area (smoking area) could be upgraded to allow people to sit outside. Moreover, the rooms are a little small - we stayed for 3 days in a private room, and I don't think I could have stayed longer in the room (stuffy and slightly claustrophobic). Bathroom decent and had toiletries stocked. Overall, I would stay again if staying only a few days.

During a 3 week trip to the UK, Ireland and France, booking a private room at this hostel for my family was my single regret. We only needed 2 nights accommodation in London, and I don't mind basic. But this is not a "nice" hostel with a bit of atmosphere, where you bring your family if you're traveling on a budget, and aren't looking for frills. It's a party hostel. We were on Floor 2, above the large bar, and heard loud music until late at night both nights. It felt institutional with its dimly lit industrial-looking hallways, and scant bathrooms, which frequently ran out of hand soap and toilet paper. (1 bathroom per floor - where a hundred people might be sleeping - is not sufficient.) The rooms are tiny, barely room to move around. The hallways and bathroom smelled. We didn't sleep well and woke up each morning wanting nothing more than to get out of the place. It was honestly a nightmare and I was so glad to check out. Don't stay here unless you're 19 and don't care about getting a good night's sleep.

Terrible hostel. Do not stay here. The staff arent good so its run a bit like a madhouse. From having to wait 1hr to check in because they had no keycards. Then random people were sleeping in 2/4 beds which staff did nothing about just gave clean bedding and told us find an empty one. All this after we came back from a night out, its not exactly ideal. And finally but worst of all the place does not look like the images. Its either really dated photos or edited as ffff. The showers and toliets are all small, broken in one way or another and smelly. The toilets were always covered in poop but i guess this says more about the guests than the staff but broken toilets dont help. There is 4 showers for about 50 guys per floor, Same with toilets. The bedroom lacked plug sockets and only had usb A outlets on the beds. There was a rat in the breakfast area. There was one small fan in the room with bunks so the people on top just roasted all night no breeze. There was literally no where to hang your clothes when changing in the 1 of 2 changing rooms per 50 guys. So everything is on the floor. Same in the shower and because its tiny, your dry clothes cant not get wet. The underbed lockers are big but loud as ffff not ideal when sharing with 4 muchless 8 or 12. They also took some of my stuff when they cleaned, had to get it from the basement among all the dirty towels etc. Literally the worse place I have ever stayed and I'm from a 3rd world country. Ive seen bad and this is it.
