Holiday Inn Express CAMBRIDGE by IHG, an IHG Hotel

The property was not great. The tap in the sink did not work properly, and was extremely difficult to turn on and off. It felt like it was getting jammed each time one attempts to use it. The shower water pressure was very low for a ground floor room. Was even told that the room did not have air-conditioning at time of check-in... which obviously does not go down well in the summer heat Given option of getting a refund if we wanted but where else could we go in such short notice? Breakfast ended early as well, without any notice from staff that it was ending just before 9.30am (most places that we'd been in England would end approx 10am) Check-in queue took a long time too

The hotel staff were great. The maintenance man went the extra mile finding us a working quiet fan to cool the room.

Very helpful when checking in

We stayed during the hottest day of the year, the air conditioning was broken and our room was over 30 degrees in temperature. We asked for a fan in our room, we were brought a broken one. When asking for ice from reception they told us they couldn’t give us any. The staff were unhelpful, unsympathetic. We spoke to other guests of the hotel who left to stay somewhere else due to having such a poor experience. Would not recommend staying here.

Fine for what it is

We stayed before a hospital appointment and it was ideal. From check in to checkout the whole experience was good. We were a little late for breakfast but a lovely lady prepared us fresh scrambled eggs and sausages. She was very thoughtful. All staff were friendly and professional. Thank you so much

The breakfast was quite low key; scrambled egg was tasteless like plastic. The choices were quite limited. We had once a dinner there and it was quite poor quality. So, except the low quality of food/meals, it was ok.

All good. We just needed somewhere to sleep for one night. The hotel was clean and comfortable. The room was small but adequate, the breakfast was pleantiful and well cooked and well presented. I would use the hotel again but would wanta bigger room if staying for more than one night.

Good location, just a 5-7 min walk to the nearest bus stop. Area is quiet. Staff are friendly. The room was fairly cramped for a family when the sofa bed is out. It was also not comfortable to sleep on, could do with replacing the mattress. The bathroom has been nicely renovated but unfortunately the tap is too far from the sink and water goes everywhere.

Clean room and communal areas. Helpful staff. Restaurant area not very large so couldn't deal with the influx of people at breakfast

Perfect

Couple of lights in room broken, bed so hard i considered sleeping on floor, no socket by bed for cpap machine. Flat beer in bar as according to staff no gas in 2 days, dirty prs left on tables for over 40 mins while staff stoid talking, cold hard bacon and eggs, sausages pale and undercooked.bathroom floor near bar dticky and dirty. Fire alarm on tv in bar dent staff panicking for 10 mins until customer pointed out it was on tv

Nice hotel, clean & comfortable. However, i booked a twin room with sofa bed for two adults. When we arrived the sofa bed wasn't made up so i spoke to the staff & we went about our day. When we returned, they'd opened the sofa bed & just draped a duvet over it with no sheets. Unimpressed with this but overall a good hotel.

Our stay at this hotel was amazing. Very quiet with a good view of the lake. Window could not be closed as faulty. Had a wonderful day in Cambridge
