Holiday Inn Express SOUTHAMPTON - WEST by IHG, an IHG Hotel

Over all very pleased with our stay room was very clean staff friendly and helpful breakfast all good

Very pleased overall. Certainly stay there again.

Where to start. First we arrived a bit early and the front desk person was incredibly rude. We knew we were early as it was around 12 noon and merely wanted to inquire as to if our room was available then we would like to check in. He lets us know everyone is always trying to check in at 7 am which is not applicable but found this to be rude. When we finally got our room key the door is locked and the room was already occupied so back downstairs and more delays. Now I want to add the description of the property is not true. There is no air conditioning in the rooms on all floors above the bottom and you will not know it’s a holiday inn if you look at the pillows, towels, mattress nothing. The shower was very nice but the toilet would not flush and we used the one by the front desk. Not a lot of options around the property for anywhere to eat. The manager told us that they are just very busy and have lots of guests. My wife asked her if they were understaffed and was told no so that means it’s a management issue. Anyways this is not a typical holiday inn more like a cheap hotel. The housekeepers are very friendly but management is in over their heads as they are running around constantly getting little done. The manager took over our check in and told us the room would be ready in 20 minutes and we’ll over an hour later they give us keys to a room that already had people in it. This place is very unprofessional and not a typical holiday inn.

A bit far from city centre without a vehicle but bus service to and back from centre was excellent

Nice hotel for a quick stay. Only 10 minutes to the cruise port, which is why we chose this hotel. Friendly and helpful staff.

Some construction in the area but didn’t affect stay easy walk to local pub.

Staff were lovely. Breakfast was nice. Place was clean. Only complaint was that it’s in the middle of nowhere.

We stayed here the night before we sailed on the Queen Mary 2. It was convenient and well priced; even though I thought it was a little sketch when we arrived. I was wrong. It was perfectly safe and there are food places within walking distance. You won't need to do that if you arrive at the time their restaurant is open. They serve lots of different foods. Breakfast was delicious. We were checked in quickly and the front desk was nice and helpful. Everyone that worked there was polite and professional. Our room was clean and the bed was comfortable. We really enjoyed our stay.

Just as expected really, nothing more to say.

Location was good for Poultons Park - However, For what they charge, Room was ok, tired carpet, toilet did not flush and staff had no clue on what there where doing. Breakfast was shambles, deffinitely not what I expect from an IHG property

Good location, but poor signage and very cramped parking. Coffee was not drinkable. Not enough power receptacles in the room.

Nice hotel on a new site just built in the wrong place. Why put it right next to the motorway where you hear all the lorries coming off at 4 o’clock in the morning instead of putting it over by the pub which would’ve been better
