The Mitre hotel was superbly located and competitively priced. The building is old and characterful. But the rooms are clean and comfortable. The bathroom was a bit dated and had an electric shower. These are typically a bit of a pain in the ass to use, but the flow rate was okay and the water was warm enough.. My room had a very uneven floor. Which was weird at first, but I quickly got used to it. Reception staff were efficient and friendly. I wouldn’t hesitate to stay there again

Amazing! Staff were lovely, brilliant location, it is above a pub but you can't hear the noise at all. Not the most modern but a really great hotel

This was my second time at the Mitre Hotel. As before, all the staff I met were very friendly and helpful. The room itself was very clean and well equipped with tea, coffee, etc and the even had an iron and ironing board, not that it was needed! The room was well decorated and designed and I was fortunate again to have a view of Manchester Cathedral.

Great area and in the heart of the city. The hotel building is old but still very comfortable. I had very little interaction with staff but all very friendly, in particular the girl at reception. I would choose the hotel again when I’m back in Manchester.

Our stay at this hotel was good, great location and lovely staff. However I booked a room for 7 people to share, the sofa beds weren’t made up to sleep in so we had to sort these and put the bedding on the duvets and pillows ourselves. There was 1 bathroom for everyone to share and it didn’t have a shower, only a bath.

The room was spotless. The staff were so polite and catering. I only ever stay a night for concerts nearby but it is always an amazing experience every time. Great check out time for those last nights out. Not too noisy unless there’s an event on (but that’s expected being in the city centre). So many shops nearby, as it looks out onto a shopping centre. There’s a 24hr spar a 3 min walk away. Great location, great stay. Can’t recommend enough.

Our late checkout was not properly added to the system, we had people trying to get int the room in the morning. Even had reception call us wondering why we had not checked out. Our room felt like it was in the basement. Had to carry case up several flights of stairs just to carry down again to our room.

Reception Staff did not ask am i okay to climb steep stairs & no lift so had to ask to swap alocated room. Bed was smaller than average double Size. Toilet like a Carovan style design & in tiny space & noisy , not like photo's online of Other hotel rooms . Windows were screwed & bolted closed, did not feel Safe due to 'No fast exit in emergency like a Fire' Do not think would stay here again due to lack of space & lack of Oxygen or fresh air inside of hotel.

The room looked nice and it was clean. The staff were nice. However, the bed had a mattress topper which is fine, but every time you moved you could hear the springs in the mattress underneath. Worst of all was when you flushed the toilet used the sink or shower a unit behind the toilet made a really LOUD noise, which I assume was refilling the water tank. You could also hear next doors room as well. TV was also poor as you had to angle the remote just right. Also, couldn’t watch anything on iPlayer as keep buffering and coming up with an error message and you had to start over again.
