Radisson Hotel York

Clean room and good cleanliness throughout the hotel. Unfortunately car Parking spaces are limited. Good central location. Lovely river views. Enjoyable stay.

Nice hotel very central

This property is in a great location. Easy to walk to everything and a great view if you choose a river view room. The room was clean and comfortable. There was an issue with the bathroom door being hard to open as it was sticking in the carpet. We were in a room far away from the reception which is a two lift ride, so check where your room is if you don’t want a long walk. On arrival, you have to self check in. The kiosk wouldn’t accept my QR code and a staff member came to help but disappeared before I could log in and it couldn’t find my booking. We finally got that sorted then I had to make my own keys and this didn’t work either. After 4 tries we found another staff member to assist us. It would have been a much nicer experience if it was a traditional check in. There were 3 staff all chatting whilst we struggled with this process.

Rooms were ok , shower head leaked all over, lots of old stains on shower walls, bathroom had a sewage smell. Location good though - pretty average

I booked this hotel a few months ago for me and my friend to visit York . At no time was I informed I couldn't pay by cash, but I was refused this at check in. Yet looking at reviews when the Internet goes down or when the WiFi breaks guests have to pay cash!! Check in is so slow and be careful when we were waiting to check in staff were giving other guests a full list of all guests and their personal data so they could self check in, the only stopped this after they over heard me. I also did message the hotel about this but they chose not to reply. I didn't give the hotel permission to let's others see my name, number and how long I was there for I never got asked to fill in a form or scan the QR code for car parking and terms and conditions, yet others were being asked to scan this. When we checked out again the queues were terrible and the staff were so slow. Its a shame because it was my friends first time in york

Everything was perfect from staff to breakfast and checkout, car parking was good.

All staff were friendly and helpful but Jen was exceptional. Hotel is in a good location.

Amazing stay, fabulous showers, would definitely stay again.

We booked a room on the 7th floor facing the river. Staff are over stretched, reception has long lines and I failed to summon up the will power to queue to tell them that our aircon and (of less importance) the Nespresso machine wasn’t working. So at night, the room was overly warm (a summer in the UK, who knew) and then loud cacophony from the bar across the river went on until the small hours. Sound Insulation could be better. Noise went on for the second and final night of our stay, so I’d suggest booking a room that doesn’t face the river. Last night was the (underwhelming ) World Cup final. We sat in the bar. Staff were very stretched, I ordered fried calamari. Bar food was less than overwhelming.

Adequate hotel - staff not especially friendly or welcoming

By the river Ouse in York you are reasonably close to everything. This hotel appears to be mid-20th century unimpressive architecture. There were issues with air-conditioning over very warm days. The bed was great, however I booked a king bed and was given twin beds. The shower worked well which gives this hotel passing marks. Security was full on and rooms are quiet. If you stay here book a river view as it will make it worth your while. There was a peculiar sulphur order which must be emitting from a hidden pit somewhere. York itself is charming mostly. Crowds can be heavy on fair weather days.
