A wonderful pet friendly hotel in the heart of Grasmere. It was decorated beautifully, and the room we had was spacious and clean. The breakfast was delicious, with a range of cooked options and a buffet style breakfast too (not to mention the dog got a sausage every morning!). Our only feedback would be that our room wasn’t cleaned during our stay, though it was only three nights. It would’ve been good to have the mugs and water jug refreshed, however I’m sure if we’d asked this would’ve happened, as the staff were friendly and happy to help. We would absolutely stay here again.

The he Victorian House was a delight to stay in, the staff were friendly and helpful, the breakfasts were delicious and the rooms were lovely.
The property is on the edge of grasmere and is very conveniently located near shops, the bus stop and cafes etc.

Our recent stay at The Victorian House was very good, room was nice, comfortable bed, great staff and service, great location in Grasmere and fantastic breakfasts.
Our dog friendly room was in an outer annexe adjoining the garden on the ground floor, room was nice and clean although bathroom paint was peeling off all around the top of the walls above the shower and window, possibly could do with repainting with waterproof paint.
Now our bugbear, the noise from people upstairs was unbearable being a light sleeper, you'd think they had a hot tub and liked moving furniture around all night, the walls are a bit thin so you do hear your neighbours next door. We managed to get a parking space for both nights too which was a bonus as in the lakes you can spend a fortune on car parking !!
All in all a nice hotel with very pleasant and helpful staff, we enjoyed our stay overall.

Great hotel in a fantastic location. Everyone at the hotel was friendly and helpful. The rooms were very comfortable and a great place to retire to after a day spent hiking. Breakfast was delicious.

I really enjoyed my stay. The staff were very nice, and the breakfast included was delicious. The only downside was the limited parking. There were only a few designated spaces, and they were occupied during my visit. I had to park on the roadside until 10:40 AM, but since the parking limit was until 10:00 AM, I ended up getting a parking ticket.

We loved the pastries upon arrival. Beautiful conservatory breakfast room and delicious food. The hostess who greeted us was so kind and cheerful. Our room was very comfortable.

Outstanding accommodation.
We had a cosy room at the front of the hotel and we were very happy with every aspect of our stay
Breakfast was excellent. Lots of choice and cooked breakfast was tasty and very well presented.
