Village Hotel Manchester Bury

Stayed with children, the staff were unhelpful and avoiding helping me on my own with 2 children. No telephone in the room. Room service forgot part of the order. I contacted the hotel to express my concerns after my stay and no one contacted me back. I won’t be booking to stay here again with children.

Food was ok Lighting in room awful, struggled to apply make up room was a bit neglected woodwork cracked and un kept . Location was good Also breakfast was expensive didn’t realise it was cheaper if paid on line

Nice pool and bar break fast just ok.

Awful & Rude

Stuff on reception wasn’t very helpful at all. Didn’t explain how to find the room. Very easy to the overflow building completely like amazing got lost for 25 minutes as well as another customer both trying to find our rooms. Reception staff seemed very arrogant

On arrival the staff member on reception was rude, disinterested and very unhelpful. Really set the tone for the rest of the stay unfortunately. The food was cold on arrival when I ordered room service and the Dyson air that was in my room was not working Breakfast was okay, choice wasn’t great compared to other hotels that I have stayed in. I would avoid this village hotel at all costs

A good looking Hotel from the outside, the food in the restaurant smelled great as you climb the steps to the door. (There is a disabled lift around the side somewhere) Self check in with help available, parking fee arranged at this point, I had missed this on the website, it was £7.50 a night, not over the top but a surprise for me. Room is a bit dated, only two sockets on the desk and no USB sockets anywhere. Comfy bed, plenty of space in the room and good shower pressure! Now the downside, no Air-Con - this is mentioned on the web, but I happened to be there during the hottest June in forever! There was a Dyson fan... that was very weak with no controls apart from speed. At level 10 it did not reach the bed. I asked for a replacement but there are no spare fans. Shame as this is the only bad point I had, and the weather is not the hotels fault. Bar staff helpful, Breakfast from 6.30 till 10 was tasty with a fair selection, several different breads and I do love a china teapot! Self checkout, again with help available. Overall I would stay again, but on a much cooler day!

Clean room but could have included a refrigerator as a standard. Hotel was a good choice for a family of 3 with 1 toddler however if you are planning to stay over the weekend, the front facing rooms of hotel can be too noisy on Friday night up to 1 or 2 am due to pub people having a blast just outside the hotel. Breakfast was fine however not a huge variety to pick from. Overall a good experience and would stay again (non front facing room haha)

Self check in so difficulty rating the staff. Bed very comfortable, room nice, shower good. Food at bar very average. Shame they don’t have any decent beer - great if you’re a lager lover !

excellent relaxing family trip

Requested for service, and was not done when we returned back after day out.

Good comfortable room , a little dated but good for a short stay.

Everyone was sweet and everything was nice. It’s a 5 star hotel for a very cheap price

First room was appalling…. Usually every village hotel experience we have had has been first class and clean. Not the case with Bury unfortunately. We told staff and got another room which was better (club room) but still had some blood? Stain on the walls and windows were marked with hand marks but I was too embarrassed to complain again. The corridors, lifts and general areas were grubby. We have stayed at Hull, Chester, Edinburgh and this was by far a total letdown.
