Perfect 10 Year Anniversary Stay! We spent 3 nights at Whatley Manor for our 10 year anniversary and honestly couldn't have asked for better. The suite was spacious, spotless and properly luxurious - plus so peaceful you'd forget you're only an hour from London. The gardens are absolutely stunning, clearly maintained with real care. We booked the Michelin star restaurant and they were brilliant about my dietary requirements - not just accommodating but genuinely excited to make it work. That attention to detail carried through the entire stay. Every staff member made us feel looked after without being over the top about it. The lounge was gorgeous, drinks were excellent, and everything from their sustainability efforts to the little stories behind the property just added to the experience. The views alone are worth it. Only complaint? We just wanted more of it so, wished we'd booked longer. Would absolutely return.

Old charming manor that is one of the best in Cotswolds. Having stayed at a couple others including Lords of the Manor, the positives of this one in comparison are: its easier to get to from London, the grounds are amazing and impeccable, its a truly remote feel among the hills, land and animals of Cotswolds, and the michelin starred Dining Room is probably the best food in the Cotswolds. The only real obvious negative vs say the Lords of the Manor is you arent in walking distance of a charming town/village. But since you most certainly will be renting a car to get here it is a small negative. Highly recommend this hotel!

Whatley Manor is a beautiful property with excellent staff but a bit questionable management. 1. You are grandly directed to drive through castle like doors that open as you approach. However when you dive in, you are greeted by a “What Door do you Choose” option. There are 5 doors to choose from, NONE have any markings. We chose one where we wandered through a good part of the hotel before we reached reception. We had chosen the wrong door!! 2. The lighting switces in the room are all the same with very questionable directions and functions. We never did understand them. 3. I went down to the bar to get some ice and also asked for 2 wine glasses and a wine bottle opener. They gave me the ice but said they would bring the glasses and opener to our room. They did this a a few minutes but the person who deliver them told us she couldn’t leave the wine opener because it was hers. She offered to come into our room and open our wine. Since my wife was indisposed, I rejected her offer. A few minutes later I called the front desk and asked if they could bring an opener to leave with us. Another girl arrived a few minutes later. But she too said that the wine opener was hers and she couldn’t leave it. A finalily convinced her to leave it and I would return it in a few minutes. Which I did. The management needs to have their “heads examined”. The staff was wonderful but the management decisions leave MUCH to be desired!!

Don't waste any time. This is the place. Perfect grounds and classic structures. Great restaurant! Chef over-heard me ask about where was 'the local spot" for the best cottage pie. He made it special for me that night for dinner. It was the "Shakespeare of Cottage Pies. As a veteran of California spas for many years, this is the best spa experience ever, with amazing bubbling pools that connect inside to outside, a series of sauna's from dry to infrared to steam, and a sensory deprivation flotation tank that looks like a space-pod. Stop thinking. Book your stay!
