Comfort Hotel Paris Porte d'Ivry

AVOID AVOID AVOID unless you have no choice and it's dirt cheap because it's worst than a motel in the US. I stayed at this hell hole for 3 days because i pre-paid. Only the last day, the check in was normal and professional by a nice ftench girl. HOWEVER, STILL WON'T RECOMMEND IT.

Check my previous stay review. This stay, a true petty representative did give us a better room and exploration like a professional. She actually dress like a pro with polite voice and smile. AVOID AT ALL CAUSE for Family Room.

I booked April 2 to 4, 2 nights. From the start, i had a bad feeling. The entrance is old and ugly. When I got to the counter and say bonjour to the woman, she was busy on her laptop. She told me to wait 20 minutes when. There was no one waiting. I assumed that it's because of 2pm check in. No explanation or smile. When it was 2pm, a black man (manager) check me in. He told me that i had to pay over 600 euro for the second night. I was confused and told him that it was prepaid. After all that, he gave me room 331. Once we enter the room, it was like we enter the 3rd world hotel. There was no blackout curtains, only a see through white curtain that was useless. At 3am, it felt like 7am because of the outside hotel lights. No phone in the room to call for service. The room was dirty, we want to leave but we can't because it was prepaid. I went downstairs to speak to a male representative (30s) becausethere was no electricity. He was friendly and fixed the issue. We took a shower and the water just runs out to the bedroom. We had to use towels to contain the water from going further. The shower heads we yellow from years of use. It was disgusting. This time, I went downstairs again and asked for a room change but he told us that it was full. My family was mad at me for booking this hotel. I wanted to complaint to Expedia but we had another night on the 11 of April. It was hell on Paris. All family rooms are for handicaps. Not worth >$100.

Room was small and dirty

Awful experience. Poor customer service, lack of hospitality, and extremely rude staff. The breakfast was very average, yet they charge a high amount for it. Definitely not worth the stay.

Room is too small, value for what you pay not there, breakfast is very basic and not good quality or fresh products for 13 Euro per person, staff are friendly

the hallroom was too dark, some ceiling lights are off. Is this a Paris thing or just no one bothered to fix the hallway lights on the 3rd floor. it scares the heck out of me each time i walk in there. Get some fix that please. Common now. this is a hotel, get those lights fixed asap always

The lights kept going off and the staff on the first day wasn’t welcoming

When I arrived the gentlemen at the front desk was rude. I knew check in was at 2 but he called me up just to tell me again check in was at 2. Didnt even check if rooms were ready or try to help me in any way. Finally a gentlemen with name tag that said Epongue called me up to try to get me in my room early. Total opposite from the other gentleman. That was just the check in but overall room service lacked! They didnt really clean, they just made the beds. Floor was untouched and they took our towels and never brought new ones! I had to go downstairs to get new ones but I was denied towels. I was told to come back in the morning to get them. Again, staff was rude when I requested towels and rolled their eyes at me. Not to mention coffee machine in the lobby was off in the morning, so no coffee for people staying I guess you has to pay for the breakfast which I wasn’t going to after all the other experiences there.

A little bit too far

This was a poor stay, when we got there they had given our room to someone else (apparently with the same first name) so they left us for 25min in foyer waiting. Then put us in another room, but failed to transfer our breakfasts over, so next morning 20min trying to sort that, paid breakfast for the 3 days then next day they weren't on the system. Just terrible service. Then the final straw was that they took our towels and did not replace them so had only a handtowel on last day. So each of these errors by themselves would have been a mistake but together they ruined this break, and I would not recommend this hotel. Also they do not give you pillows, we had a small cushion each. So the name comfort hotel is misleading. Its a long way from anything, so need Uber or long walk.

Overall it was comfortable, but the room lacked storage space (closet, drawers). The breakfast was so-so, not great.

The bathroom had a terrible odor and towels were not replaced with clean dry ones.

Very disappointing !!! The room we were allocated was not clean . The floor was dirty. The bathroom was not fresh and the beds had not been changed. There was human hair on the bed sheets.We were offered 2 alternative rooms and unfortunately there was hair present on the mattress covers in both of these rooms also.

The place is within walking distance of the metro, which is really a plus point. The building and the room have seen better days, but I cannot complain with the price I paid. If you are a traveller and just want somewhere to sleep after a long day of sightseeing in Paris, then this is a budget-friendly hotel. There are towels and toiletries. The bedding seems clean. The pillow is just like a throw pillow and not a proper rectangular shape, but it's fine. There were some policemen around when we visited, but it did not affect our visit. The reception people are also polite and does not mind speaking in English.

The room looks different from the picture. There were molds in the bathroom. Low rating because of the dirtiness. Location is good.
