Never made it to the hotel

I didn't get to stay there because I had to move my trip a week forward so they confiscated my money, claimed I had made a non-transferable booking although they couldn't show me where that was found in the contract. I won't ever use this hotel.

If you ever book this property, make sure your dates are unchangeable. I had to move my stay forward by a week so they forfeited my money because according to them, it was non-refundable because the rate I was given at booking time, was supposedly "special". They never showed me where in the contract, this was stipulated. Although they forfeited my money, I still went ahead and booked a second time, with the new date, hoping they would appreciate my business and refund the previous amount. They were adamant, claiming the money was non-refundable, but never showed me where that was found in the contract. I knew the money could be forfeited in case of cancelation but not because I was simply moving the date forward . Availability of rooms was not the issue because I still ended up having a room, at the same rate, with the new date. I should have just gone ahead and booked a different hotel. I had chosen this one though, because of the online reviews. Service was ok, nothing spectacular for a three-star hotel. Staff members made an effort to communicate in English the best they could. However because they forfeited my money under a false non-refundable pretext, I won't lodge at this hotel in the future, unless as a last resort.

The staff were polite and very helpful. The room was clean but the elevator was scary - rickety, wobbly and some very strange noises. The drain in the shower had a dodgey odour. The heating worked well and it’s a safe place to stay.

the property is ok. but we had very bad experience with our stay. it's a friday night, extreme noise from the street at 2:30 AM. Drunk people stayed in front of the hotel, singing, dancing & peeing directly on the street. The noise last more than 20 mins, we could not sleep at all, I went down to the lobby, asked staff for help. We needed a place to have a good night, however, it didn't go well in our case. that's why i give a bad score

The receptionist was very nice and helpful. Room was clean and comfortable. Good, secure parking for extra cost. Breakfast was good, plenty of choice. Very central, a few minutes walk to town.

Quick checked in, less than 5 minutes. Very helpful and friendly receptionist. Room is modern with air-con, neat, simple & clean. Bed is comfortable. Shower room is small but manageable. 'wardrobe' is very small. 1 minute walk to the tram-stop. Train station is 3 stops away only.

The hotel is located very centrally, perfect for exploring Besancon on foot. The hotel feels like the typical Ibis experience, so you always know the level of quality you get. However, this time we had one big issue with the room: we were given a room on the top floor, which was unbearably hot even at night. One couldn't breathe in the room, let alone stay a whole night in. We complained at the reception and even though they initially claimed there was nothing they could do (in French, which we don't really speak), we were determined and kept persisting that the temperature and lack of air in the room was a real issue. After much deliberation, one of the staff members accompanied us to the room and agreed himself that the room indeed was too hot and airless and didn't have suitable conditions to stay overnight. The only option he could offer us was a room next door, and even though that room felt also too warm for our taste, it was much better than the original room and we could bear the temperature, so we gladly accepted the room change. So in the end, it all ended well, it was just the inconvenience of having to go through that experience and wasting the energy on something basic that shouldn't be an issue at all. To sum it up, we would recommend this hotel for its fantastic location and overall good state, just make sure to stay away from the top floor rooms until they fix their temperature issues

Just one night stay. Hotel was very easy to find and in a good central location. Great car parking very secure. Room was very comfortable although a bit warm. Have stayed in a number of ibis hotels in France so knew pretty much what to expect. Facilities were adequate and breakfast was quite good. Ideal option for a short stay.

This property is in a great location close to the historic district. There are a lot of restaurants and shopping nearby. The room was very comfortable and clean.

Very good location, close to pretty much all the places of interest in the old town. Very clean room with a spacious bathroom that is rare for a three star hotel. Super helpful staff. Good breakfast for under 10 euros. Secured parking on the premise for a very reasonable fee. Would stay at this Ibis again.
