Spacious, nice apart. Fantastic kitchen with everything you need, so it is convenient when you stay longer. Gives an 'at home' feeling. Huge TV for long evenings if you go in winter or cold season. Convenient location. Walking to restaurants, shops. If you have an apartment in the ground floor, don't park your car in front of the building, you can take your luggage inside directly from the terrace in the rear parking.

The apartment we rented was not in the resort. Rather in a separate building which was fine with us due our wanting to have our own meals and more room to move around in, than a basic hotel room. It was well equipped and clean. The furniture was very comfortable, the kitchen was well equipped and there was a great TV (even if there were only 2 english stations) even thought we did not really need it. The front desk people were very helpful and the language barrier was really not an issue. All in all it was a very nice accommodation. We would recommend the Avital to anyone visiting Winterberg.

This hotel was advertised with spa services food, and in close proximity to ski lifts. What they do not say is that the spa services in the pool they charge per person per day, the ski lifts are not even close and are not within walking distance. To eat at the restaurant you have to reserve it the day before and pay an €18 fee per person. They don’t serve lunch only breakfast and dinner on certain days. The front desk people were extremely rude and not helpful at all. Parking was another area of contention as there is not enough parking for the guests and the road to get to the parking spot is very narrow.

The check in was terrible. The absolute definition of not to be customer oriented right from the get go. The person at the reception was rude and was very argumentative about the check in time after I proofed her wrong and she diverted to impose to sign the reservation……horrible bad! The next surprise was that we had to get our luggage back in to the car and had to drive to an offsite location/biopsy not as advertised. We had to go 2 floors up to enter the two rooms we booked. To me I don’t understand how the have awarded the 4 stars ….unbelievable! My list of criticism could go on and on……cleanliness smell building issues you name it. Normally I do not write any reviews, but in this case I had to just for the simple reason to warn people to book that fake accommodation!
