Hotel Benn

Quaint hotel in a charming neighborhood. Rooms are clean and comfortable. Old hotel that’s got that Bavarian feel. I recommend it.

I recommend this hotel. It's in a great location, and the woman who works at the front desk is so nice and helpful. The only drawback of this hotel is that there is no elevator, and some of the rooms are on the second and third floors. There is nothing they can do about it. It's an old building. If you don't mind walking up stairs, this hotel is perfect. If you have a problem with stairs, you should look elsewhere.

I liked everything, the beautiful 18th century building, the room, the breakfast, but especially the professional and friendly staff, who were eager to help from the beginning to the end of my stay.

Nice friendly hotel with lovely breakfast

Arriving at Hotel Benn after 22.00 due to a flight delay of 90 minutes leaving Manchester, and not being able to get a signal on our phone, the driver who took us to the hotel tried calling only to get a recorded message that reception was now closed. We rang the bell several times and knocked on both doors but no one answered. Cold, dark, in a strange country and beginning to rain we were left on the doorstep with nowhere to go. Both in our 70s and my husband being disabled, no consideration was made as to where we might spend the night. The following morning the hotelier was less than polite or apologetic quoting his rights as to the time we should have been there.He was able to tell us that we arrived at 23.00 (in fact we don’t think it was that late!) so he must have known we were there. Surely someone must have been on the premises in case of an emergency. Not once in our three night stay for which we had paid for four nights did he ask where we had spent the Monday night nor did he offer any compensation. Thus we had three nights for the price of four - a good selling feature! I appreciate his rules but felt angry at the treatment we received. Had I been a pregnant virgin on a wee donkey I am sure he would have still left us in the gutter. His attitude spoilt our stay in Berlin as we couldn’t get out of our minds his unfriendliness. I wish him a Merry Christmas!

Centrally located in the 'walk street" area of Spandau, near stores, shops, restaurants and access to the trains.

Very nice& clean, hotel located in Spandau, with everything within walking distance. Great breakfast buffet. Wonderful staff.

The staff are very nice and helpful! Breakfast is very nice with lots of selection, cheese, ham, bread, cereals, fruit and yogurt etc. It would be better if a kettle with tea and coffee are provided.

A very convenient location for the outdoor music arena. Staff extremely friendly and helpful. Very clean and nice and quiet street. Highly recommended and hopefully I will have a reason to come back. Missed breakfast as I had such a good nights sleep.

Wonderful little family run hotel. Warm and welcoming hosts. Always ready to help and eager to introduce people to Berlin... and the surprising interesting facts on the Spandau citadel. Highly recommended!!!

I thought Hotel Benn was really good. Very friendly and helpful staff, a good breakfast and the room was clean. Everything you might expect from a family run hotel, especially good at Christmas with the Weinachtsmart on your doorstep. Plus travel wise, Potsdammer Platz was only 15 minutes ride from the train station which is amazingly convenient for tourists wanting to get across the city.

We stayed at Hotel Benn for the Berlin Marathon. The hotel is some distance from the city centre, but ideally located close to a metro with direct links to the city as well as the main train station. The area of Spandau itself is lovely with great food nearby. The hotel staff were incredibly accommodating and always checked we had everything we needed. The rooms were clean with comfortable beds. The only slight negative was that our bathroom was compact. Otherwise, no complaints and highly recommended.

I wanted to see Spandau because I wanted to stay outside of Berlin. I had a very restful night. It is a quiet place and I had a pleasant stay.

Great hospitality, charming family-owned hotel minutes from Spandau station. Room was comfortable and breakfast was excellent. Excellent location for an event at the Waldbühne or Olympic Stadium.
