Hotel Zugbruecke Grenzau

I've stayed at this place for well over 20 years. My destination is Koblenz but I prefer to stay here where it is quiet and serene. The staff is excellent. Breakfast is always a treat. I love taking a pot of coffee and sitting on the balcony listening to the nearby Brexbach stream.

This is my goto for stays in Koblenz. Yea, its like a 20 min drive...but it is worth it! The rooms have been upgraded since the last time I was here. They look great. The breakfast buffet is just as I remember it...legendary. The surroundings are serene. Leave your window open and fall asleep to the babbling brook. Never hit the spa yet, but it looks comprehensive. Maybe next time!

This hotel is like something out of a fantasy movie. Spectacularly beautiful, with helpful staff, gorgeous sauna, etc. The problem is that they built the doors so well (heavy) that the underlying structure of the building physically shakes everytime someone slams ANY door in the building. And as the place is always sold out, the doors will slam a lot, as the people who were sharing the hotel with me were doing ALL NIGHT. Clearly based on the reviews (wonderful) this doesnt affect other people, but I just cant sleep when the whole bed shakes every 5-10 minutes. Ear plugs and white noise machines do nothing for this. I only got to sleep at 4:30am after I requested to get another room, or the last of the guests stopped coming and going. Either I was too exhausted or not but the other building (lift 3) did not have this problem. Or the room I was in 112 was the particular resonance chamber of the hotel because its right over this room (see picture in the mystery noise room)? Who knows? It appears most Germans have no problems sleeping through the equivalent of the Jurassic Park T Rex glass of water scene all night, so all Germans disregard this review. The hotel is amazing otherwise. I just cant rate the comfort over 2 in my review when you get less than 3 hours of sleep a night. I booked it out of the way location so as to get a good night sleep so I was particularly frustrated with the situation.

the hotel & the room were ok. the rooms were not ready at 20:00. they supose to be readt at 15:00. the breakfast was ok at least 2 days the food was not fresh. they use the rest of the food for the next day. like fruits, smoke fish.....

Nice hotel, nice location, nice people but awful food. I ordered a steak that was tough and full of gristle and fat. The peppercorn sauce was sweet and not peppery at all. The restaurant made a big deal of their steaks, i wouldnt feed it to my dog.

hotel was unusual - quirky but very peaceful in a nice quiet countryside location - service was very inconsistent though.......

The hotel and location are both beautiful. Lovely walks in the surrounding area. The pool and spa facilities were nice with a great sun terrace and outdoor jacuzzi. Children are allowed in this area though which made it less relaxing than it could have been. The breakfast buffet was outstanding and included glasses of fizz, a great start to the day! We had the evening buffet at an extra charge, which was outstanding. Guests would definitely need a car, as it is far from the train station. There is plenty of parking spaces.

We had a meeting near by with a local company. We loved our stay at this hotel. Great, friendly service, a fabulous restaurant in the hotel. A nice bar area and a castle ruin just a short walk away. A great location for a weekend getaway in eastern Germany. The only negative is that the beds were small singles

The shower heads in the rooms are cheap rubbish and certainly do not reflect the prices you pay for the rooms. I complained about his multiple times to the hotel owner, but it seems since he does not use the rooms he does not care. This is certainly a top-class hotel, but we need top- class shower heads.

Great value for mone, clean and tidy

My favorite hotel to stay at when visiting Koblenz. Beautiful surroundings and my favorite breakfast buffet in the Rhineland.

I stay at Zugbruecke every year - more for the surroundings than anything else. The hotel has great facilities and probably my favorite buffet of all the hotels i've stayed at. The staff is top notch and will go out of their way to help if asked.

Excellent location in a small town in the middle of the woods (but of course, far away from everything). The restaurant is excellent and top notch, but there is also a regular bar where you can eat excellent pizza and play some bowling. The spa area is great!

overrated place. And staff is very rude. I cannot complain enough about this hotel. Go to the one next door.

Restaurant closes exactly at 22.00 hr and not 22.05. Staff not prepared to make me a salat despite late arrival Also at bar no service for a wine

I use this hotel when I am visiting Koblenz. The facilities are top notch. The rooms, while dated - are comfortable and clean. The food is excellent and the breakfast is off the charts.

Nice hotel, good buffet breakfast. Staff were ok, did not speak good English, at reception. Dining staff were excellent
