This hotel and the owner John made this stay absolutely perfect. He will bend for any needs one has and he makes the stay so comfortable for any visitors. Upon arrival we were 2.5 hours early to check-in, there was no fuss, and we were shown to our room. We questioned about bike rentals and he had two for free for us to use for one day, no problems. Lastly, eat there, no matter what eat dinner there. John makes some of the best food I have had in Germany in over 4 years. Overall my gf and I were so happy there and want to return.

The first thing you will notice as you are picked up at the train station at Bayerisch Eisenstein by John, the owner of Pension Elan, is his enthusiasm and passion, which is infectious! He whips up fabulous dinners for his guests and pays attention to every one of our needs. His guest house is really a home away from home. Set near the Bavarian forest, there are a number of activities you could do, including picking wild mushrooms and blackberries from the forest, or seeing breath taking sights like the top of Mt Arber. You could even take a short walk across the Czech border to Alzbetin to do some sightseeing. A wonderful stay well worth the time and money.

We had an absolutely fabulous stay at Pension Elan. Having visited Bayerisch Eisenstein a few years previous, we knew the area much better and chose Pension Elan due to its proximity to the town. It's about a 1k walk into the town centre but certainly not too far to stroll down for dinner, however, the train station is the other side of town and up a hill so probably a bit far to drag your suitcases. We had the most lovely welcome from Jon when we got to the pension, and checked in no problem. He gave us two drinks on the house and explained when they would be bbq'ing if we wanted to join them for dinner, showed us the saunas and our room and left us to it. We went out for dinner but joined them for breakfast which was again lovely. A mostly cold continental breakfast - meats, cheese, bread, fruit, cereal with some pancakes thrown in. Checked out fine - but be warned, even though I reserved the room via Hotels.com with an AMEX they don't actually accept it! Left with a free Toberlarone and wel wishes having had a great nights sleep and an absolutely fabulous experience at Pension Elan. Very clean, very nice people, tourist-friendly and a lot of great facilities if you wish to use them. Would definitely stay again.

Bij de hartelijke ontvangst door eigenaar John meteen al veel informatie ontvangen over de omgeving. Kamer is goed, schoon en metname de badkamer is prachtig. Ook barbecue genoten met John als kok. Uitstekend!
