Schlosshotel Steinburg

really enjoyed our stay at Schlosshotel Steinburg. Our room was beautiful and charming, though a bit small — something to keep in mind if you’re traveling with a lot of luggage. There’s no elevator, but that’s noted in the small print, and we didn’t mind. While there’s no air conditioning, there was a fan provided in the room, which helped keep things comfortable. The location was perfect for easy drives to all the nearby attractions, and the staff were very helpful and welcoming. A lovely stay overall!

As always, it is a great Schlosshotel Steinburg, to stay in. A great and clean room. Wonderful dinners and good breakfast.

This place is phenomenal. My two biggest "complaints" are that there is very little in walking distance (about 30 minute difficult walk to town), and NONE of the TV channels are in English. Not a single one. The only English channel they had was "unavailable." But, if you're only there for 1 night, it's not an issue. The room is SO comfortable and the place is so great. Don't even get me started on how gorgeous the view is.

This is a beautiful, historic property. We booked a room that turned out to not feature air conditioning, which the hotel explains on its website but I didn’t notice a warning when booking though Expedia. Luckily the night was cool enough to get along nicely with opened windows. The restaurant was disappointing. We wanted more of a snack after having a late lunch on the road and the only offering was an an expensive, multi-course menu whose description seemed overly contrived and ambitious given the restaurant’s modest online reviews. We were seated next to a wedding party and then ignored, which fueled our best decision to get back in the car to eat elsewhere in town. It seems odd that the hotel doesn’t have a separate bar according to the front desk, although a downstairs location looked like there was once one. I would probably stay again for the view and the chance to explore the property further, making sure to figure out the air conditioning options and planning to dine offsite.

This place is tired and strange. The only thing going for it is the food service and the view. The dining room smelled like my grandmother’s house in the 1970’s…just saying. Cozy rooms and tiny bathroom, but hotel layout is dreadful. Reviews are way too forgiving. Very little English spoken by the employees. Old world Germany. Beware.

Best view in Wurzberg. Well worth the drive from town.

Amazing stay on top of a hill overlooking Wuzburg. Nested in a local vineyard with castle like atmosphere.

It was an unique stay for us, very nice and clean rooms. The atmosphere was incredible, we had the feeling we’re the owner’s of an old castle. The restaurant and buffet amazing..We’ll come again..

This hotel is amazing. Overlooking the city it serves an enormous buffet breakfast. The rooms are stunning.

Very nice Castle hotel with Panoramic view!

We stayed in the old part which seemed like a castle. Our room was very clean. Cozy, and very attractive. High quality linens. We had beautiful views on two sides. The hotel restaurant is excellent and the staff very friendly and welcoming.

Very nice hotel. The rooms in the new wing we stayed in were excellent with wonderful views. The breakfasts were also very nice. One issue was the unwillingness of the staff to offer us a seat with a nice view for 30 minutes prior to us leaving to our dinner even though there were many available seats. They were reserved but we were never given the option of using them for 30 minutes or until other guests arrived. Just told no. Many were open when we left after being seated in a table without a view.

Had a great stay for one night stay. View from the room over Würzburg was great. Also had dinner on the terrace which was great. Highly recommend for couples.

The hotel was great overall, very clean and great service. Views were spectacular and highly impressive to make every night special. There were too many wasps/bees outside at the dinner/breakfast area, which the hotel would benefit from correcting, if possible. The wait and all staff were very pleasant and caring. The terrace had an area that should have a safety bar for safety installed without sacrificing the view. Saw kids sitting on the terrace ledge, a safety concern. My room was not air conditioned, probably the typical German situation. The hotel could invest in discreet fans for air circulation during hot days. Toiletries were insufficient, shouldn’t have to call for replenishments. The menu should be expanded, maybe add a salmon or a fish dish or provide a changing menu, maybe daily chef specials to mix it up. The hotel should add a vending machine for drinks variety in the ground floor, maybe a menu in the rooms. There is no elevator. Parking area was great. The shrimp salad is wonderful, recommended. Great wine and top notch cake selections. They brought us extra shrimp for a reasonable price. The stay is a great romantic get away to impress a loved one.

Friendly and helpful staff. Clean and comfortable room. Excellent restaurant on premises with Julia, our server, guiding us through the menu patiently!!!
