WOW City Hostel

the location is excellent. walking distance to the attractions.

I’ve been this with the private bathroom option for a single person however there are a couple of disappointments. 1 - the front gate of the entrance is very scratchy, not recommend for young woman to choose. 2 - the actual room is not really match to the photos. Those photos online are highly saturated and it is not very clean. 3 - I would highly recommend to compare different reviews before booking this.

The hostel has switched to fully code-based entry. This was awesome since I arrived when there was no staff onsite and could easily enter the building, the hostel and my room without interacting with anyone. The hostel is very conveniently located, meters away from the Airport Express bus stop. Facilities are clean. My first impression was that there were not enough washrooms or showers, but I didn’t encounter anyone else in the washroom or shower area during my stay, so it seems fine. All in all, this was a good stay and great value.

For a hostel, amenities were good. Shower and toilet are separate rooms, which I liked. I especially appreciated the bed curtains. A little privacy goes a long way in a hostel.

Great staff and clean environment. Unfortunately there was no after hours emergency contact information left. I experienced someone having sex in the room and I had no one to contact. Also the mattress was too thin and there was a permanent pit in the center of it

Great location. Very central for travel to and from airport as downtown and on main road. Slot of food options a stone's throw away. Initial entry can be awkward as you aren't given a code and there's no bell to ring. I was lucky a group of friends were entering to go and apartment they'd rented when I arrived so they let me in and I was able to go upstairs to the hostel. Guy on duty was really friendly and very helpful. I stayed in the ensuite and whilst it was great , the ceiling possibly needed a lick of paint as there was a watermark and the bathroom showerhead needed cleaning as it had a limescale build up. This aside the room was great. I'd definitely stay again

Very basic, cheap accommodation at a great location. Very convenient to/from the airport. The 100E bus from the airport stops almost in front of the building. Phone or doorbell kept ringing early dawn with nobody at the reception desk and I could hear it in our room, even though it was far away. Then some construction or repair work started early morning when they were drilling the walls or something. Impossible to sleep.

A- a great location, a 10 minute walk from the city centre; B- basic but met our needs for a 2 night stay S- small, furniture needed moving in order to get into bathroom; O- overall, reasonably clean (bathroom, communal spaces etc); L- loud to the early hours but to be expected with location; U- unclear signage to access the hostel; T- the location is great and makes the rest worthwhile

in the middle of the down town with a central transportation the building and the stairs are too old and need refurbushing

The day before I arrived I received a nice welcoming message which was very nice! I personally struggled to get into the building but there’s usually people going in and out so I didn’t wait for too long. The accommodation was in a perfect location! Very close to the shuttle bus stop and is a great place to start wondering around! Inside the hostel was very nice! They can provide you with a lock and key and towels if you require all free of charge! My bed was super comfortable however there was a slight stain on the bedding ( either pen or blood but I’m pretty sure the bedding was washed and it was just a stain so it didn’t bother me at all!) super friendly staff and lovely people looking to have fun! Would definitely come back! The receptionist helped me locate the bus stop and a few other bits, so friendly!

Probably stupid to stay in a shared dorm during the pandemic and one of my unmasked roommates in the 6 bed dorm was coughing up a storm all night. It doesn’t help that management doesn’t enforce mask mandates. But the location is prime, the rate is low, and it is kept clean. Receptionists here have the usual tendency to disappear so bring your own towel. But the place is clean, centrally located, and well priced.

Good place to spend one night at

In overall it was good, But a little bit noisy..our room was at a noisy side of the pub under our building..so at night there were noises from there and hardly to sleep..especially that we stayed there on weekends nights..the room was also pretty dirty..

Pros: Clean room w/ private bath. Great location, easy 15 min walk to the Danube. Airport Bus 100E and Deàk Ferenc metro station is less than 1 block away. Cons: Room is right above a busy street with heavy foot traffic. Very loud when windows are open. Much better with windows closed and AC on. STAFF: the 2 guys that work in the morning are quite friendly and helpful. The lady that works the late afternoon shift until close (9pm) was quite rude to me and 3 of my roommates; she does not smile or greet when you arrive/come up to the front desk to ask a question. I asked her to to turn on the AC in our room and she looked at me and didn't say a word or acknowledge me. I walked away to fill my water bottle in the kitchen (directly I'm front of the front desk) and went back to my room. She then comes into our room with a rude tone of voice asking why didn't I get the remote at the front desk (as if it had been too much trouble for her to come to our room). I said, I didn't even know there would be a remote, I thought it was a switch you had to turn on at the front desk. So I told her in front of my roommates "you know, you are being rude, you never greet any of us, you never smile, and your tone of voice is always angry" she said "you can file a complaint or write a bad review, I don't care!" She also told my roommate "this is not a 5 star hotel!". People like her need to find a job outside of the hospitality business, very sad! Because of this, I would not return.

Hostel was kept clean and comfortable, service at reception was quick and helpful.

Great location. Clean rooms, kitchen, bathrooms and showers.
