Hotel Gran Mahakam

This is my second time staying here for an extended period and I really liked room 521 although it only had a shower, no bathtub, and the bathroom's exhaust ventilation wasn’t particularly effective at venting out. The room itself was great.

I once got a room not far from the hotel elevator. Because there was an earthquake in Indonesia, some bathrooms didn't have bathtubs. The water was so powerful, it was like a water cannon used by the Indonesian National Police against protesters. My back hit the marble wall instead of the glass, which was terrifying. And I got the best room service crew, named Sahrul on the room service list.

Suggestions for each floor from the elevator to the hotel room and from the hotel room to the hotel elevator are provided with a sofa chair.

I can't believe I've been staying at Gran Mahakam room 523 for 14 days. From the moment I checked in on July 4, 2026, the room was comfortable, with a bathtub and hot and cold water. The staff at Gran Mahakam were very helpful, including helping me get medicine from the Mahakam Pharmacy next to the Gran Mahakam Hotel. The hotel manager was also kind and friendly. The soundproofing from the outside was 100% excellent, and the room was quiet. I'll stay here again next time.

Staying at Gran Mahakam is a delightful experience. Not only does it feel like a home away from home, but the soundproofing in the rooms facing the main road is excellent. The staff are kind and helpful, and the breakfast and room service offer a wide variety of delicious options, making a stay of four or five days or more truly worthwhile.

The staff is friendly. The food is delicious.

I'd definitely stay here again, all the staff are friendly and helpful. It's close to Blok M culinary scene.
