Check in was not very welcoming or informative. We weren't told about how to get in during bar closing times with a key in a Lockbox. Breakfast is only served between 9 & 10am with No Flexibility. We were offered a sandwich to take away instead, which looked disgusting so didn't eat it. Also, we stayed 2 nights and on the 2nd day we returned to the property at noon (the bar was closed) so we couldn't get in, it was all locked up. The entrance door for the accommodation is different to the one to the bar. Only by chance we saw someone inside and knocked on the window. She said you can't check in until 4pm, but after explaining we'd check in the previous day, she let us in, but with no apology. When we explained this to the manager the next day, he asked : didn't anyone give us the Lockbox Number ? After we said no, he shrugged his shoulders with no apology. Our room was average at best, and the mattress was very uncomfortable. Would not recommend.

Wonderful place with room having character and appeal. Owner Liz went out of her way to help, give directions and share some of her stories. Traffic along the road outside might be a concern for light sleepers and need for open windows to keep cool at night increases that risk. Lovely place perfect for our needs!

Our host Liz was very helpful, lots of advice about what to see, and we even had a brief Irish instruction. Very lovely. This was a great base for visiting Dingle peninsula. Breakfast was great, we enjoyed the pub, and there is also a nice pub next door.

I loved it here! Instead of being handed a key, we were shown to our room, which was so cozy and welcoming. Both dinner and breakfast felt like home cooked meals rather than restaurant food. But the best part was the personal attention we received from our patroness Liz who shared stories and advice that truly touched our hearts and showed us the real Ireland. I wholeheartedly recommend a stay at the Anvil.

I was met right away to check in. The clerk was most helpful with getting my bags up to my room. The bar downstairs gave me an opportunity to chat with the friendly locals. I had roasted chicken with mashed and vegitables for dinner. The meal was delicious and fulfilling. It was an enjoyable overnight stay.
