Pleasant stay. Came in late September and stayed on first floor. Room was a bit warm so we opened the windows, which helped a lot but let in a lot of noise from patrons below. Couldn’t imagine how stifling it would be in the height of summer. Room decor was dated, but added to the charm. Fantastic location in the middle of town. Very walkable city. Lots of people out on a Thursday night. Nice vibe. Staff was very friendly.

Unloaded from our cruise at 9am but check in isn't until 1 pm. Manager allowed us to drop off our luggage and go exploring, plus got the room ready early so we didnt have to wait 4 hours! We didn’t know that most stores are shut on Mondays, so ran out of things to do after 2 hours 🙄

I booked this because it was the closest I could find to the Trieste airport, where we had a very early flight. It’s about 10 minutes (€35 cab ride at 4:30am) away. It’s kinda quirky but worked. The woman who checked us in was great - provided diner recommendations & booked our taxi for the next morning. Bed was comfy, bathroom small & crowded but everything in working order. Monfalcone was a ghost town when I arrived at 17:00 on a Friday. The main town square quickly got filled with local Muslim population - women in burkas and hijabs with loud kids running around and men standing in packs looking over. A few Italian local teens were nearby on the sidelines staring into space or rather into their doomed future.
I was hoping for a small Italian town feel and instead it felt I teleported to Saudi Arabia or Bangladesh. Nothing against the religion, it’s people or language. It’s just not why I booked a hotel in this town for a quick weekend trip to Trieste. Will make sure to do more research next time I travel.
Hotel staff was polite and helpful. Breakfast was simple.

Let's go with unique. When we were handed a key, I assumed old. I was right. The bed was not comfortable. We ended up being up all night. There is no parking and we had a early flight. My husband walked 5 blocks to get car at 4am. Not ideal. Though outdated it was clean.

1. Due to flight delay, we arrived at the hotel late. No receptionist at the front desk. There was a phone number for us to call the person to open the door. How about if a foreign customer cannot make an international call? Would it be more friendly to have a buzz instead of a phone number?
2. no coffee jar in the room
3. no hot food for breakfast
4. only one big blanket for a two -bed room. Better to have two small blankets instead one big one.

The employees were very helpful, friendly, and kind. The room can use a few upgrades, but it is a small town in Europe so I’m not complaining. Location is great, with quite a few dinning options a short walk. The manager was great, he helped us get a taxi at a very early hour to take us to the train station (without luggage it’s a short half mile walk uphill).
