Mercure Bologna Centro

Loved this hotel!! Conveniently located across the street from the train station. We had a street facing room and with the windows closed, we couldn’t hear a thing from outside!! Modern decor, nice room and helpful staff. Good strong wifi!!

Great hotel in Bologna, opposite the train station, staff were excellent and friendly. It does breakfast but no other meals. The only thing (not really negative as we don't mind walking) is that it is a 15/20 minute walk into the city centre.

The location of the hotel is perfect! Opposite the train station so easy to travel & also easy to get to and from the airport. Also just a short 15/20 minute walk into the centre of Bologna. The staff on reception were polite, professional and helpful. But the bar staff were exceptional! Great customer service, every drink was served with a little snack which was a fab touch! The room however was extremely basic and could do with a little TLC. It was enough for us for a few short days stay but the bed wasn’t particularly comfortable and the pillows were quite lumpy. The bathroom could do with a bit of a refurb. The hallways / lift areas could also do with a new carpet and it is quite annoying having to use an ironing room. I know this could be a local law or policy but even if there was an alternative like a steamer in the rooms then that would be better! Breakfast was ok, we paid for the breakfast for every morning when we booked but honestly we only used it twice. The food was lovely and coffee machines were very convenient! There was also a fresh juicing machine which was a nice addition to have! We had a nice stay overall but spent most of the time out exploring. The hotel did the job but overall would rate maybe a 3 star due to the rooms and breakfast being pretty basic! Staff and location were great though!

An ideal location with places to eat steps outside the front door! We chose this hotel for its proximity to the train station (a 1-minute walk across the street)- Bologna is such a great central hub to get everywhere in Italy via train, so it was an easy choice to choose this hotel for its location alone. The minute we walked in we were thrilled this was our choice. The hotel is beautiful inside, clean, wonderful decor, and friendly and helpful staff. They have their own garden/backyard type setting - you can grab a drink at their bar or just go sit outside. It's really relaxing. The rooms are generous for European hotels rooms and are fully stocked with coffee, water, and so clean. The beds are comfortable as well. Outside your hotel there's pizza, mortadella, gelato, (street foods), as well as "The Food Gallery" where you can order these foods in a sit-down setting, as well as beer, wines, and pastas. I would not hesitate to recommend this hotel and I will choose to stay here when in Bologna again.

Clean compact room. Fridge free water. Safe in room belongings. Opposite train station. Mind ur bags jewellery around here. Fine when you get into town about 10 min walk.Breakfast was good . Fresh meats cheese pastries eggs etc. Good coffee. Staff at breakfast were miserable as well as bar staff. Reception staff arrival very friendly but different member Monday morning who needs to learn to smile. Lovely garden onto hotel back that you can sit out relax. It’s so near to Florence day trip would suffice as not much to see and food prices same as Florence.

Wonderful stay at Bologna Mercure. Location is very convenient, across the street from the train station for easy access and to drop off bags before heading to main sights in Piazza Maggiore, which is a 20 minute walk away. Room and bathroom are very spacious, and room amenities like slippers, bathrobe, free water and fridge refreshments, including a prosecco, tea/coffee maker are welcome touches. Breakfast is ok, best part of it for me was the juicer, to make fresh fruit/veggie drinks. It was a comfortable stay in a good location.

We had a good time. Easy to walk to the city center.Crossing from the train station. Show and restaurants around . I recommend it.

Over all a good stay, location over the street from Central Station was ideal for day trip to Florence, and only 7 minutes by monorail to airport. Nice staff. Very clean. Would stay again if better room at a cheaper rate. I was disappointed in the room, I booked a more expensive balcony room. Room was on the top floor, in the roof and the "balcony" was a space in the mansard, surrounded by a concrete barrier, no view. This part of the hotel is adjacent to a public food court & thoroughfare that was noisy when the 'balcony' doors were open. The hotel has it's own lovely green courtyard, so when booking I presumed I'd be overlooking this area. I would've asked to be moved but overheard that the hotel was fully booked, as was apparent the next morning with dozens of coach trip seniors at breakfast. I received no reply to the "How was your check-in" email hence this public review.

This is the only location that I use when visiting Bologna. The staff are great and and the rooms are comfortable.
