Sunset at the Palms Review Sunset at the palms is a beautiful resort that definitely has a lot a potential. Notice I said potential? That’s because there is plenty of room for improvement. To start the whole resort is much smaller than I had anticipated. The staff was definitely the best part of the resort. Everyone was friendly and polite. I felt welcomed from the very beginning. The pool is barely worth putting your trunks on to get into. The bartenders are hit and miss on even some of the simplest of drinks. Those two facts make the swim up bar feel gimmicky rather than luxurious. The resort also faces the challenges of its location in attempting to keep the resort clean. One of the treehouses had so many bees flying in and out of a crack that I wonder if there was a hive. I recommend you do not eat or drink in your room. My room had an ant problem that reared its ugly head when I fell asleep with a beer can on the side table. It’s clear that the resort tries to minimize this by encouraging eating and drinking in the designated areas. Not being able to eat in your room without an infestation is certainly not what I had planned for a relaxing getaway. The taxi drivers are friendly and polite, but make sure you negotiate the price up front. I paid for a driver and I thought we had agreed on the price for the whole day. Then when I got out of the club at the end of the night he juiced me for an additional fee. I only went to the club on his suggestion. 😕

We wanted quiet...it was too quiet. No night life at all just piano player who was great but it was like a retirement home. Looked like was 40people,pool empty. But staff was amazing beautiful rooms however the birds chirp all night. Food was just ok. Had to leave to get real jerk chicken. Im used to it right off grill on the beach. The beach is acrossed the street. Area is quiet no music nothing at all. I wouldn't stay here again. It was off season but it was so boring and quiet. But looking for somewhere to just sleep this is your place. Staff amazing.

Great getaway if you are looking for a quiet laidback place. Venues to eat from were limited, only buffet and a beach bar. Limited food after hours.

The service & staff were amazing. The property is old & a bite run down. Rooms were clean, but needs updating, also, very dark.

SATP is a wonderful boutique resort. Adults only so very relaxing and chill. It is smaller so it has limited evening activities- so big partying types may want to look elsewhere. But if you want top notch service, good food, quiet relaxation, no crowds and access to the best beach in the area - this is THE place! We will be back for sure!

Loved the bungalow in the trees and the lush plants and flowers. Staff was super friendly and food was great. Beautiful beaches with plenty of shade or sun. Definitely going back.

I love the stay so calm and relaxing

Property is beautiful and the staff is great. Navarro and the other bartenders were excellent. As were the wait staff who were very gracious. Concierge’s also very good. The property needs updates, our room was in fair shape. Overall, a great trip.

Most resorts it’s hard to get a lounge chair but not this place. Lots of chairs for everyone! Food was great and the resort was quiet.

This resort is incredibly unique - giving you the experience of the tropical “forest” feel and the beauty of the beach. We had a room towards the back of the property and fell asleep every night to the sounds of the Jamaican tree frogs and woke to the sounds of the birds. The first night we were worried we wouldn’t sleep but it was soothing. We loved the setting, it was like our own little oasis on our porch. I spent a lot of time reading on the daybed out there. One morning it was raining and I laid on the daybed reading while listening to the rain (and staying dry). It was the most relaxing experience. The staff are incredible- one of the gardeners created a bouquet of flowers for me just because. My only wish is that the coffee bar opened a little earlier, that coffee is amazing and while I could make coffee in the room, it wasn’t nearly as good as the coffee at the coffee bar. We were there for a week and the second half of the week it seemed to get busier - the best spots on the beach filled up early (by 7:30). We absolutely loved our stay and can’t wait to return!

Lovey place to stay , some of the most friendly people I’ve ever had the chance to meet truly go above and beyond every single day !! Definitely will be goin back !!!

The staff was exceptional, fantastic service. The food was better than average , had good selection but could have had more selections, realizing it is a smaller all inclusive it was pretty good.

Loved our time there! Beautiful resort, truly relaxing, lush landscape, food was fantastic and great variety. The private beach was gorgeous and great swimming area. The staff is exceptional!

We knew we’d be one of the few young couples at this resort based on reviews, which is exactly what we wanted for a calm and relaxing honeymoon. We couldn’t have asked for anything to be better and will absolutely be back! Staff, facilities, food, beach, pool, driver from the airport and for our excursion (Mr. Sinclair) were all exceptional. We are so grateful for the best honeymoon we could’ve asked for! Thank you to all the staff at Sunset at the Palms!

Very friendly staff, they are always available when you need them. Nice quiet, laid back atmosphere.

This is a VERY quiet resort - so if that is what you are looking for it’s great. The grounds are very pretty. Dining options are very limited, but the food was good. Bad service at lunchtime. I had to ask 3 times for my room to be cleaned which was annoying. Do not use their “spa.” It was a light oil rub down, not really a massage at all.
