I really enjoy stay in this hotel. It is located in the center of Kumamoto City, near to Kumamoto Castle which is the most popular landmark of the City.

Wonderful view of the castle straight from the window. Very convenient location for visiting castle and ginza, and plenty of place to eat close to hotel. Only negative is I cannot park our car in the hotels parking lot due to it being long, although it's a regular size car. Offsite parking was not convenient and its a hit and miss and very tight parking spots.

Property was very close in proximity to all the major cultural heritage sites — actually virtually right there on the spot. Knowledgeable concierge as well as very good check-in staff. Covid rules well in place so stay was very comfortable overall despite cloudy and rainy weather. Highly recommended.

The hotel was very nice…in 1995. Now, it feels like the ghost of a hotel. It’s not terrible, but there are a lot of little things that add up. Everything is quite old, the water from the bathroom smells bad, the keys reprogram if they get to close to your cell phone, the decor is all kind of yellow and brown, the beds are stiff and uncomfortable, and for the first time in Japan I encountered hotel staff that seemed like they wished I wasn’t there. No one was rude, but they didn’t seem to like me very much when I bed to get my key fixed. One thing that is great is the view of the castle, that’s is amazing.

部屋のWi-Fiが全く繋がらない。ルータを貸してくださるとのことでしたが夜にすでにシャワー浴びて浴衣だったのでロビーまで行けず。バスルームには前のお客様のボディスポンジのゴミとヘアが残っていた。この2点は残念。

We booked a Hollywood twin and found the room to be quite small (it is Japan, so not unusula), but the beds were really comfortable and the room quiet. We had a lovely view of the castle from our windo, which opened (always a bonus to have some fresh air come in). Staff were helpful, and car parking was easy and reasonably priced. The hotel is an easy walk to the shopping street and surrounding area, where there are lots of eating options.
