It sits right on the beautiful beach. We enjoyed dining outside and gazing out over the white sands and blue waters. We could walk right out to the pool area, and from the pool to the beach. Kumejima is gorgeous and interesting, and we greatly enjoyed our stay.

Pros: good breakfast with lots of options which changed throughout the trip One lady on reception went out of her way to help us Pool looked nice although we did not use it Gym was well-equipped Cons: very hard, uncomfortable beds. Thin walls, no soundproofing at all (and yes, I do expect this in a hotel! It's not a ryokan) It was quite grubby - the whole hotel needs a deep clean, not just a superficial one The rooms/facilities are very dated and tired. The photos are out of date and the stay felt expensive for what it was.

Two pools empty with dirt and sand on bottom. Jacuzzi both empty and dirty. Tennis courts no nets and covered in sand dunes. Putting green no flags and overgrown. Beach covered with trash. Building falling apart and safety hazards everywhere. Rooms were nice but wood floors and being put on bottom floor kept us up all night. Onsen was good with a nice view.

Very disappointed in this hotel. It's like a hotel that was built on a beach 20 years ago and was never maintained.... holes/cracks in the room walls, beds that seem as old as the original construction and bathrooms that seem to be made out of porta potties. Hotel staff is fine.

Hotel is old and there is no entertainment inside the hotel (December end week stay). Rooms are small in size and the air conditioning sometimes not enough. Better to book with breakfast, it is really worth. However, dinner is not value for money. The biggest plus is direct access to the beach.

as one of the only two hotels on the island and the only one on the beach i would recommend this hotel if you are planning to spend a few days on the island. the hotel has great service. the beds are a bit hard for westerners but we asked for extra padding and they were provided. the hotel breakfast was fantastic. there were many restaurants within walking distance too. we took the taxi to nearby attractions. the besch is beautiful but there are many dead coral washed up on the beach so you will need water shoes. this is a great place for families. we were a family of four stayed in a two twin room and they provided two additional beds per our request without additional costs.

staff of EEF sports club, Keiko san, really nice and helped me to book restaurant nearby so i did not miss the great local dishes. my family joined the snorkeling tour, another EEF sports club the staff Ami san, was professional like and taught my kids snorkeling. we really enjoy the time on the island and swimming along with fishes. the sea was little bit rough as we visit the island a day after typhoon passed. we did also horse riding and visited the famous sea water SPA for 3 days. my kids can learn and meet the sea turtles at the sea turtle museum. bus service is available on the island, but more convenient if you rent a car.
